At its Annual Luncheon Meeting, May 23,1998, at the Bird Key Yacht Club, Sarasota, Florida, the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States;
NOTED, that the current fiscal year of the Chapter did not correspond with the fiscal year of many other UNA/USA Chapters, and the National Association,
RECOGNIZED, that a fiscal year change would help the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter in its work and in its reporting to other UNA organizations,
DECIDED, to amend Article VII (Financial Administration) of the By Laws to read as follows:
"The fiscal year of the Association will be January 1 to December 31",
DECIDED, also that notwithstanding Article IV (Officers) of the By Laws, Golda Basta, a past President of the Chapter, shall serve as Acting President during the transitional period (June 1-December 31,1998) which will become necessary as a result of the change in fiscal years, as recommended by the Board. Other Officers and Members of the Board of Directors whose terms of office were to expire on May 31, 1998, shall, if they can, continue in office on an exceptional basis until the end of December 1998 in order to facilitate the fiscal year transition,
DECIDED, in addition, that the Nominating Committee consisting of Harvey Gutman, Kristy Cardellio, and Irma Fuller, shall extend its work during the transitional period, and submit to the December meeting of the Chapter, a recommended list of Officers and Board Members for the year 1999.
EXPRESSED, its gratitude to Paul Byrnes who served as President of the Association for the year 1997-1998.
