Cleo and Marck walked in the Great Hall with Franz, Siffera and Daevin. They lingered a bit in the entrance to the Hall, taking it in. |
Siffera and Franz sat down on the seats in the entrance. Marck and Daevin looked at the statues in the room. Cleo turned around and scowled, "Come on, we must hurry. Stop gawking and follow me."
With that, Daevin and Marck exchanged looks, and followed behind, as did Franz and Siffera.

They broke off and each went to sit somewhere else, as they had agreed beforehand. Siffera decided she’d stick with her fiancé a little bit longer.
"We’re early," Siffera whispered to Franz, "Look, no one’s here yet!"
"Don’t worry, darling... Cleo likes to be first in everything... but people will get here soon."
Siffera shuddered. "I don’t understand why you call her Cleo, not ‘mother’. If I had a mother, I’d..." she trailed off. Franz kissed her cheek. "I know, Sif, I know..." he distracted her by gesturing at the door. "Look, there are three more people... Lions, like us... I wonder if they’re all kings? Let’s go talk to them."
Siffera perked up a bit, and they met the three men in the center row. "Hello, Sirs," said Franz, and Siffera curtsied. "I am Franz, son of King Marck and Queen Cleo from the Lion Kingdom."
The youngest of the three spoke right away. "I am Lord James, and these are my brothers, Lord Richard and Lord Luran the Elder."
"It’s a pleasure to meet you," Franz said.
"Likewise," said Richard.
"This is my fiancée, Siffera. She is the daughter of Lumina."
A moment of silence ensued between the five.
"Lumina?" Lord James broke the silence, in a tone that indicated quite clearly that he had no idea who Franz was talking about.
"Yes," Siffera spoke up, "He was one of the Great Five, who studied from Gareth."
The three Lords looked at her blankly.
"Tell us about this Lumina," Richard requested. "Should we know who Gareth is?"
"You forget, my brothers," Luran spoke slowly, entering the conversation for the first time, "Wizards powerful in certain realms are often unknown in others. Be assured that Lumina and Gareth are great mages in Franz and Siffera’s realm."
"In that case," James broke in, "Let us sit down and you can tell us all about them."
"Certainly," said Siffera, and they chose a spot and started talking...
