Tomodachi!

Hanyaaa~n...This is my shrine for Sakura and Tomoyo's friendship! I just thought I'd make one because I haven't seen any (not that I actually *looked* that much or anything) I don't have that much pics yet, so I'll start with the how and why. If I made any mistakes or if you have any additions (especially in the "why" part), please e-mail me!
Another note: Tomoyo helps a lot with S+S, so you can try to look at the S+S story for reference.

Why they're the best of friends

  • Family - They're cousins! Second cousins, to be exact.

  • Knowledge - Tomoyo knows and notices everything about Sakura.
"Oh, but I notice even when you cut your nails, Sakura-chan." -Tomoyo, episode 25

  • Concern - Tomoyo notices at once and is very worried when Sakura isn't in her normal genki mood (especially in episode 70), and Sakura nearly fainted when Tomoyo lost her voice...

  • Opposites Attract - Tomoyo is refined, collected and somewhat mature. Sakura is outgoing, emotional, and totally the kawaii 4th grader she is!

This could be the start of a beautiful friendship...

    Small Beginnings
A treasured eraser, a treasured friend

Sakura and Tomoyo are seatmates in school (way before the start of the series) and one day, Tomoyo asked Sakura if she can borrow an eraser. Sakura nods and lends it. That started everything, and now, Tomoyo keeps that eraser in a little tiny box, and Sakura keeps their friendship in her heart^^

    The Discovery
    Moonlight Encounter

On the first episode of CCS, Tomoyo suddenly decides to tape Sakura, since she has a camera. That night, thinking she could take her videocam for a spin, Tomoyo tapes something strange flying in the sky. She zooms it up (Man, that is *some* videocam) and realizes that it's a girl, who looks like Sakura! Tomoyo shows this to Sakura the next day, (ep2) making her go "HOEEE!!!" for the girl in the video was in fact Sakura, who was flying using Windy. Kero-chan instinctively jumps out of Sakura's bag. Tomoyo blinks at the scene, and Sakura proceeds to an explanation.

    Of Costumes and Cameras
    Partners in Crime

Something decides to "rearrange" Tomoeda Shougakkou. Tomoyo offers that it might be a Clow Card. Sakura agrees, and Tomoyo promises to go with her and Kero-chan.

That night, Sakura and Kero-chan meet up with Tomoyo (along with her bodyguards) at the school gate. Before entering, Tomoyo tells Sakura that she should dress appropriately. "Appropriately?" According to Tomoyo, all shoujo manga heroines wear costumes. *sweatdrop* So Tomoyo becomes Sakura's official fashion consultant and cameragirl!

    Like Mothers, Like Daughters
    More than just friends

At that year's athletic meet, Tomoyo's mother, Sonomi, finally meets Sakura. She seems surprised at the sight of Sakura, and says she reminds her of someone. Fujitaka, Sakura's father, arrives at the scene, and there is a strange exchange between the two adults, who seem to know one another. As it turns out, Tomoyo's mother was cousin and best friend to Sakura's mother, Nadesico, and is bitter for her choice of a man to marry.

Though Sonomi doesn't seem to like Fujitaka, she likes Sakura a LOT. She keeps talking about the days when she and Nadesico were still together. The two girls are amused by this, and they hope that they can be as close (or closer) as their mothers were...

    Your Voice...
    When Tomoyo went silent

Clow Cards have a knack of attacking students in Tomoeda, and Tomoyo is no exeption. She has a beautiful voice, and she got into trouble because of it not once, but twice! The first time was because of The Song, and the second was The Voice. Both times had made Sakura (and everybody else) worried, but Tomoyo was as calm as ever. This is because of her complete trust on Sakura, that the two of them (and Li-kun) would get through tough times together.

    The Crush
    Li-kun becomes obvious

Tomoyo is very observant and notices *things* about people at once, like Sakura's obvious crush on Yukito-san. She is supportive as a friend should be. Another thing she notices is when Li-kun started to have a liking for Sakura (this was the time when she lost her voice to The Song) They were at her house when Tomoyo sees Li-kun staring at Sakura. She writes this down and shows it to Li-kun. (WAI! Look at him blush!) I guess Tomoyo not having her voice worked for him for a while, there^^

    Just a piece of advice
    Tomoyo the matchmaker!

Honestly, I think Tomoyo likes Sakura for Li-kun than for Yukito (the AGE!). She just smiles (like Eriol!) at Li-kun when he freezes and blushes profusely when Sakura-chan is around. Though she never said anything too revealing, conjures up plans (with a matching kawaii "O~HOHOHOOHO!!!") to help him. She also tries to talk him into telling her the truth, for we all know that Sakura is pretty naive about these things.

    He's leaving!
    Sakura's Wake-up Call

When Syaoran was told to go back to Hong Kong, he didn't tell any of his classmates about it, including Sakura. Sakura was still pretty much in a state of shock -- since he had told her his feelings for her -- when Tomoyo calls her up, saying that Li-kun is leaving that very morning! Tomoyo's phone call was VERY significant, since this pretty much shook Sakura, and helped her realize what Syaoran REALLY is to her.

    Come back with a smile?
    The Truth Behind the Costumes

Before Sakura was able to go off to fight The Nothing, Tomoyo made her wear costumes. Using Meiling's words: "Costumes at a time like *this*?" Tomoyo responds that it is because it IS a time like this that Sakura-shan should wear them. She says that whatever difficulty Sakura tackled, when she wore the costumes Tomoyo made, she came back with a smile. That time is not an exception. (Awww...) She also hands Syaoran a matching blue-green costume, saying that he must not return alone^^ Those costumes for Sakura and Syaoran are, by far, the coolest!
