![]() The Chosen Meets the Descendant
Sakura almost always has prophetic dreams. She gets one of a brown-haired boy in green robes, holding a sword. As it turns out, that was Li-kun. They meet the next day in the classroom, and Li-kun gives his Ultra Penetrating Glare at Sakura. And he coninues to do so even when he's seated behind her already (this, by the way, gave Sakura chills the whole day). They absolutely did NOT have a good start. Li-kun always tries to get the Clow Cards from Sakura, too, since he IS a direct descendant of Clow Reed. A New Kind of Rivalry
When Li-kun met Yukito-san, he's mysteriously attracted to him (much to Sakura's and his own dismay). Sakura is totally mortified by this, since she HAS liked Yukito since the first time she met him. It's funny, too: the first time Li-kun blushes because of Sakura was when she finally had him say that he was attracted to Yukito (episode 26)
Even though Li-kun was always cold to Sakura, she never gives up and she still treats Li-kun as a friend. She always answers his glares with a smile, her emerald eyes full of expression. Li-kun is somewhat amazed by this, and he starts to feel *something* when he and Sakura got closer... Note: In episode 40, the dream card lets Li-kun have a vision regarding the S+S pairing...and that he will eventually give Sakura the Clow Cards...Li-kun is absolutely STUNNED by this! Clever, Polite...and Getting Close to Sakura
It's time for Tomoeda Shougakkou to welcome another transfer student: Hiiragizawa Eriol. The first thing he does upon entering the room is smile at Sakura. He is very kind and always smiling at Sakura (though he IS smiling at everybody else) He's intelligent, gentlemanly, he seems to be good at everything, and know everything...
Li-kun hates him. The very sight of him, mention of his name, or worse, seeing him with Sakura, seems to ruin Syaoran's day. True, he can sense some power at him, but the MAIN reason is: Eriol is very close to Sakura. Yup, he is J-E-A-L-O-U-S. Sakura and Eriol hit it off the first day: they became friends and they called each other by their given names. (Note: In Japan, you don't call each other by given names unless you're familiar [i.e., close friends] with each other.) Hoe? But Sakura doesn't call Li-kun by his given name, now, does she? Not Yukito-san
By this time, all the symptoms appear: the suddenly pounding heartbeat, the obviously flushed, red face, the stammering, the uneasiness, the works! And Li-kun is TOTALLY confused. He had, for a reason even Li-kun himself can't recognise, bought a bear...and he feels that it isn't or Yukito. (Note: There's a tradition in Japan that if you give a bear to someone you like, and s/he names it after you [and that someone does the same] you'll be together) Yue explains to Li-kun that his feelings for his false form (Yukito) is not love. (HOE!) Li-kun is just attracted to Yukito-san because of Yue's power (Since Syaoran's power is moon and Yue/Yukito's power is also of the moon)...Yue tells him to "search your heart for the answers" (OHO! Yue gets sentimental!) Note: Li-kun starts to be jealous of Yukito (since Sakura's always gushing about him) on episode 35: Sakura's Wonderful Christmas. He begins to realize he doesn't like Yukito in ep 51, and Syaoran admits openly to Sakura that he doesn't like Yukito in episode 64, Sakura and the Ski School Blizzard. To make things worse (in Li-kun's point of view, that is) Yukito spelled out the situation to Li-kun:
Li-kun tries with all his might to deny it, and runs off...somewhere. "I...love her?"
It seems Li-kun has already hit the jackpot, yet he still has a hard time letting it sink into his head. He returns home and checks his celphone, only to find that Sakura had left a message. Earlier that day, Sakura had invited a blushing Li-kun to a Teddy Bear Exposition, but Li-kun had left early (blame it all on Eriol-kun! See, he found Li-kun staring at Sakura, so the poor guy gets flustered and runs for it) so they didn't get to decide on the meeting place and time. She tells him about the plans, and the message ends. Li-kun collapses on the bed, and listens to Sakura's message, Sakura's voice again... At the Exposition, Li-kun can't help but just look at Sakura's smiling and excited face all day... (Ki ni Naru Aitsu... *sigh* HANYAA~N!!!) Shaoran-kun, Sakura-chan...
After going around the Exposition, Sakura and Li-kun gets trapped in an elevator. After the two had been talking for a while (in the dark! the only light they had was Li-kun's fire ofuda) the elevator goes nuts and Sakura starts to trip backwards towards a hole (i don't know if you would call it that, but the elevator wall disappeared!). Li-kun races to catch her. Their hands just miss as Li-kun tries to grab her and Sakura tumbles down into the elevator shaft screaming. Li-kun sits at the edge and the image of Sakura falling into the shaft kept repeating itself in his brain.
Sakura's Heart
(W/N: This is may well be my all-time fave episode!)
![]() The Scarf
Wanting to do something nice to thank Syaoran, Sakura gets a brilliant idea and invites him to go with her to the matsuri (festival) on Sunday at Tsukihimine Jinja. Sunday, 5:40 pm, Sakura is surprised when Syaoran picks her up at her house since they were supposed to meet at the shrine at 6. Syaoran starts to blush, and Sakura thanks him for worrying about her.
When Syaoran-kun asks Sakura if she's all right (he had been worried about her increasing sleepiness the whole week) while walking to the jinja, she says she is fine and she "just finished it". When Syaoran doesn't seem to understand, Sakura offers him his hankerchief and...a green scarf. Sakura blushes, saying she isn't sure how good the scarf is since it's her first. Both blushing, they stare at each other a few seconds, until Sakura thinks Shaoran doesn't want it. Syaoran yells "Wait!" and grabs the scarf and puts it on.
At the shrine, Tomoyo says the scarf looks nice on Li-kun, and Sakura and Syaoran blush. (turns out that she knew about Sakura's little project all along) Later, Tomoyo asks Syaoran if he has told Sakura about his feelings, and he says he doesn't want to tell her now because it will only confuse her. He worries that it will put her in a difficult situation having just experienced rejection first hand. She's loved Yukito for so long that he isn't sure she is ready to love someone else yet. Because of these reasons, he is going to wait... "I'm...I'm...I'm... I'm in love with you!!!"
After Eriol vs. Syaoran and Sakura, Syaoran gathers his guts and tries to tell Sakura his true feelings. After a few false starts, he finally gets to do it. He tells her he loves her! Sakura is in shock. (Episode 70) Sakura is sitting at her deak holding her head in her hands lost in thought. She barely notices anybody (even Tomoyo!) aside from Shaoran. And it's her turn to blush and be uneasy. Syaoran is preparing for school the next morning when Yelan calls and tells him to go home, since his business there is done. That afternoon, Syaoran talks to Sakura, and tells her that he is thankful that they had met.
"You're my number one!!!"
Sakura LITERALLY runs into Syaoran when he and Meiling came back for a visit. Throughout the movie, Meiling and Tomoyo fix up moments for Sakura to confess to Syaoran (O~HOHOHOHO!!!!). But, somehow, she always gets cut off (sorta like for Syaoran in the TV series). It's either the Touya, Kero-chan, Yukito or the Void Card...or anything else. There was even a play (and the plot is VERY similar to the S+S story) where Sakura plays the princess, and Yamazaki-kun the prince. Sakura had used Sleep (the Void had attacked) and Yamazaki-kun got hurt. They had to find a replacement, fast... And they did. Who else but Shaoran-kun! But at the crucial part of the play, the Void attacks again. Poor Sakura, she can't even confess indirectly! Near the end of the movie, Sakura gets a chance to seal the Void Card. But, as Eriol said earlier, in order to do so... "the most precious feeling must be sacrificed". But the most precious feeling of the most powerful at the time was Syaoran's love for Sakura! (Sakura WAS tired, y'know) Then Syaoran simply says: "Ore mo da... ("Me, too") Sakura..." (HANYAAAA~N!!!) And Sakura jumps at Syaoran: "DAISUKI!!!!" (I don't think I need to translate that) |
Notice that the descriptions got longer and longer as we go along? Well, it has to do with...the "growing feelings"!!! HANYAAAN!!!
