Title / Page(s): "Gretchen Mol" by Josh Brolin

Even Bugs Bunny Didn't Have it This Good

Josh Brolin: When we made Picnic together, our TV movie of the William Inge play, we stayed at the most historic hotel in Austin, Texas. Some people brought along their dogs and cats, but you brought your rabbit.

Gretchen Mol: I know, and I think he pooped under the bed. I hope they vacuumed there, because I would be mortified otherwise. At home, he goes in his litter box.

JB: Did he get along pretty well othewise during our shoot? No major problems?

GM: Remember when we were on set and we had that huge thunderstorm? I was exhausted, and I just completely cuddled up with him. He was so scared. He was nestling into my armpit, and I was loving every second of it.

JB: What's his name again?

GM: Louis. At first we thought he was a girl. And then one day we turned him over, and we saw this little pink thing growing. [laughs] It was really tiny, like a hook.

JB: In all the interviews that I remember reading about you before - about your movies Sweet and Lowdown and Rounders, for example - you seemed like a really nice girl. And now you're talking about the hook.

GM: And rabbit pellets. Disgusting.
