There was lapse in updates when The Founder handed over this site to me a few years ago so you will see some holes
here and there. Much of the "wordings" still remain for nostalgia sake. Still a work in progress lah. The Staff have been
hard at work and have integrated the old and new material into:
- The Archived Images - Check the last two sections "Future Updates" and "NOW" for heaps of goodies. ^_^
- The Archived Articles - All organized for you reading pleasure.
...and since we are enjoying the fruits of the success of Kill Bill which has led to Uma's new projects, I will try
to keep this page up to date to the best of my ability!! Enjoy!
(and yes...you are listening to "Three Tough Guys" End Theme by Isaac Hayes as heard in Kill Bill
Vol. 2) ^.^
And now you can link me!!!! Just copy these images to your site and point this link to Tao of Uma!

Expanding Nationwide On December 25, 2005, and January 13, 2006
The movie classic that became a Broadway sensation now becomes a movie
musical event - Mel Brooks' The Producers, the enduring Broadway hit
that won a record 12 Tony Awards, returns to the screen under the direction
of Susan Stroman, director/choreographer of the acclaimed stage
production, with Tony winners Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick recreating their
triumphant stage performances and Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell singing
and dancing in their first big-screen musical. Sony Classical will release
the film's original soundtrack recording on Tuesday, November 22, 2005.
A Brooksfilms production released by Universal Pictures and Columbia
Pictures, produced by Mel Brooks and Jonathan Sanger, The Producers
premieres in exclusive, single-screen engagements in New York, Los
Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto on Friday, December 16, 2005. The
film will open on 1,200 screens nationwide on Sunday, December 25, 2005, and
it will expand further on Friday, January 13, 2006.
The soundtrack will include most of the hit songs from the stage
production, for which Brooks wrote the music and lyrics, including "We
Can Do It," "I Wanna Be a Producer," "Keep It Gay," "Along Came Bialy,"
"That Face" and, of course, "Springtime for Hitler." With Thomas Meehan,
Brooks also wrote the musical's book as well as the film's screenplay.
Stroman won Tonys for her direction and choreography of the Broadway
production, and she is making her debut as a film director. In addition to Nathan
Lane's Tony-winning portrayal of Max Bialystock and Matthew Broderick's
acclaimed Leo Bloom, Gary Beach reprises his Tony-winning performance as Roger De
Bris, and Roger Bart once again plays De Bris' assistant Carmen Ghia.
Joining them in the film are Uma Thurman as Ulla, Max and Leo's
secretary, and Will Ferrell as the playwright Franz Liebkind.
"I've never been happier than when I was writing the musical score of
The Producers," Brooks says. "One song after another tumbled out of my
head in what was the most soul-satisfying experience of my career. And in my
less than humble opinion, I must say that it turned out to be surprisingly
good."
For the film, Brooks has written a new end-title song - "There's
Nothing Like a Show on Broadway" - which Lane and Broderick will introduce on
the soundtrack. As a second end-title track, Ferrell has recorded "The
Hop-Clop Goes On," a "power ballad" arrangement of his character's song
from the show, "Der Guten Tag Hop-Clop." Also, the score has been
rearranged for larger musical forces by Douglas Besterman, who won a Tony for his
orchestrations of the stage production.
Based on the 1968 film of the same title for which Brooks won an Oscar®
for his screenplay, The Producers opened to critical acclaim on Broadway in
the spring of 2001 and became an immediate hit. It swept the theatrical
awards for the 2000-01 season, winning the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics
Circle and New York Drama Critics Circle awards for Best Musical. Its total
of 12 Tony Awards shattered a record set almost 40 years earlier by Hello,
Dolly! In 2005, the London production won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best
New Musical.
Sony Classical made the original cast recording - which went on to win
a Grammy® for Best Musical Show Album - and also produced a documentary
film about the recording session, Recording The Producers: A Musical Romp
with Mel Brooks, that won a Grammy for Best Longform Music Video.

Uma Thurman walks to the set of her new movie "Prime" in New York City.October 8, 2004
The Women - RELEASE: 2006?? Currently in pre-production...
According to Variety, New Line expects to shoot the movie in February, with Uma as the gold-digger
(originally played by Joan Crawford), Annette Bening as the wife, and Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, and Ashley Judd
in supporting roles.
This is a remake of the all-female comedy-drama by Clare Boothe Luce that was a hit on Broadway and on screen back in
the 1930s. Meg Ryan has been trying since at least 1994 to shoot an updated version for New Line; back then she was
going to coproduce and costar with Julia Roberts. Ten years later, Variety reports, Ryan and New Line may
finally get the film off the ground. She's turned over producing duties to a fellow who's known a lot of women, Mick
Jagger.
Luce's 1936 play, in which a Manhattan socialite's discovery that her husband is cheating on her sends her circle
into a frenzy of scheming and backstabbing, was the Desperate Housewives of its day. The 1939 movie was more
Sex and the City, with an emphasis on barbed witticisms and shopping (the centerpiece of the black-and-white
film is a Technicolor fashion show). ... In 1994, Ryan and Roberts announced plans to remake the film. By 1996,
they had a script by Murphy Brown creator Diane English. ... But the project fell apart, apparently over
scheduling issues among all the A-listers on board.
The screenplay still comes from English, who will make her feature directing debut on the project. Aside from
softening the misogyny of Luce's pre-feminist play, English says she hasn't had to update much of the story.
"The original was funny but very mean-spirited. It was Luce's attack on her gender," English told Variety.
"The catalyst of the story is still one of the women discovering her husband is having an affair, and the reaction
of her friends. Unless I screw it up, there's a built-in audience for this movie." (Posted:10/20/04) ...

About This Page
"I'm a smooth-shaved kind of girl."
- Uma
Tha Founder came up with the idea to make this website in February 1997 cuz SilverHawk was making specialized
fan sites. Why Uma Thurman out of all the sexy actresses out there? Well...she's our favourite
actress, her flicks are fine, and is so beautiful. At least she can act. She's got brains and beauty, something
missing in actresses today. She beats Demi Moore. I can't see her doing something like Striptease
or some damsel in distress flick. She an ACTOR not an accessory. She doesn't do "fashion" movies.
Gwyenth Paltrow and Sandra Bullock are not even worthy. Thus, our Founder made this page because he thought he
should do a fan site or at least a major meaty site rather than the hollow, lame links that was his home page.
He wanted something like Bruce Lee or Arnold Schwarzenegger. The problem was, although there were few sites about
them, the material was too much and whatever he had, he couldn't scan it all cause he had no
scanner back then. Ultamitely, Tha Founder chose Uma because there were few things to work with. Plus, since
she's been in the biz for so long, it's time someone gave her some credit.
Anyways, here's what this page is about:
All About - Everything you wanted to know about Uma. The complete life of
Uma Thurman. Well, all that I know from my sources.
You'll find Facts and fan mail address; Articles from magazines and newspapers; and BONUS! a Profile I wrote plagiarizing
left and right! Check the page out.
|
Career - What a career Uma has had...In depth analysis of Uma's movies, with
reviews from Fat Boy himself Roger Ebert and the Late Great Gene Siskel.
Also facts and links so phat it'll make you hurl. Check the page out.
|
Download - Unfortunately, the main attraction. Audio, video, images, and scripts from every source possible. Images are sorted out by Magazine, Movie, and Candid - These pictures brought to you by them paparazzi foolz Uma loathes so much...got no idea which ones are taken without Uma's consent.. i.e. I don't include wack photos of her walking out of airports or those "spooky fuzzy on the set photos." Those can only be enjoyed by stalkers. Check the page out.
|
Link - There's gotta be only a handful of Uma Thurman web pages out there and most of them are slobberfests and lack any useful info...only the best are here...
Only the best links are here. Check the page out.

Nic Opinion
Tha Founder's mission was always to make a site focused on her career rather than her beauty. But why make an Uma
page when there are so many sites out there??
All the other sites were lame, focusing on her looks and body (just like the press) rather
than her talents. He decided to make a site with meat rather than just frosting.
Tao of Uma! avoids all other gossip that everyone seems so caught up in. It's time Uma got some sorta
recognition other than "most beautiful" or
"sex symbol" crap. She's one of the few actresses who doesn't do crap movies
and then turns around and attempts to do "serious" roles. She doesn't need to
date the current Hollywood hunk to get noticed (Ahem..Kidman..cough..Paltrow).
She does what she wants to. So Uma has had her share of flops but she can't
help it if the script was lame. Her upcoming projects are promising but don't
utilize her talents. If she did Contact, would she at least get some
sorta respect? Who knows. Her star has been trying to shine for a long time.
She should be in the same league as Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jodie Foster. Thing is,
she hasn't made a movie that she has carried and hit the big bucks. Cash
rules everything around me. Now that geeks like Paltrow are taking her roles,
we wonder if Uma will ever get to show her true colors. Like Peter Travers
suggests, she is too smart for her upcoming roles. Who knows? Maybe she'll
snag a decent role like Modesty Blaise. Uma is an innovator. An actor
that doesn't conform to Hollywood's rules. Like Brad Pitt, but before his rise to fame,
Uma refused to typecasted as an "innocent naive girl." Instead she took risky roles
without regard to whether the box office would respond. Hollywood needs more actors
doing wack roles instead of the same factory-churned box-office explosions.
One must admire that kinda character. Someone who doesn't give a damn about money, just
the quality of the job.
This site is for me to say Uma Thurman gets no credit
and I'm here to tell the world to make sure she does. This isn't a shrine, it's an information area on the
career and life of Uma Thurman. I'm making it as legit as possible: no gossip, no bull! No stalker information
because we are not as crazy as Penn Jillette.
Everything here is completely non-profit and is not endorsed by anyone. I say what I wanna with no
Hollywood big shot telling me how to promote Uma. It is not an official site, it is MY website! I do what
I want to! It's the fan site with a difference....The original CDK philosophy since 1997!!!!
Hmmph...what can I say about Uma's career? After Avengers flopped, it
appears her choice in projects reflects the successes of her peers. Her turn on Broadway
emulated Nicole Kidman. The bad reviews for Uma didn't help. Now she is doing back to back
period pieces a la Gwyenth Paltrow. It's not that she is a bad actress (see Pulp Fiction), it's just that she
picks bad scripts....
06/18/00 - What does The Chiclet think of Uma's latest career move? I dig it. Selling out?
It's the 21st century. Like Barbie told us, "Girls can do anything." I think it's good to see her
return to her modeling roots. In addition, it provides more exposure. Take Elizabeth Hurley for
example, who ever heard of her before Estee Lauder? Although Austin Powers wasn't much of
a burst into superstardom. Let's hope Uma will make smarter career moves. Interesting she's finally maturing as a
woman. Accepting her beauty and not trying to shy away. Enjoy it while you can ;)
08-08-03 We all have our fingers crossed with Kill Bill and Paycheck. (I really like that she is
working with Chinese directors and actors, gives me lotsa pride!! ^_^) Good on paper but who knows how the audience will
react?
Thank U
First and foremost, thank you to Uma for an inspirational career. Without her, there would be no website!
I must thank those who made Uma sites before me...ripped off almost all my early (mainly in Download ^_^)
stuff from them! Yes, it's great having people with similar interests - less work! less headaches! ^.^
Thanks to all who visited TOU and to hard work of The CDK Staff (MZA, Jakob, Snoopy, et al. ... who
incidentally have not updated the site in nearly 3 months :P)!
You know...I cannot believe it has been over five years since this website has been up. It is a collection of Uma material since 1989 when I
first discovered Uma. Technically, it was 1995 when The Founder first logged on and collected Uma GIFs and JPGs from the
pioneering Uma websites. Two years later, construction began on Tao of Uma! and in 1998, this humble site was
unleashed into cyberspace. There have been many imitators and duplicators, but no one has even topped the content of
this site. The Founder wanted this site to be aggressively publicized and even drew the ire of haters and such. I, on the
other hand, would rather keep Tao of Uma! low key yet I am grateful to meet all the wonderful fellow worshippers
of the etheral Uma Thurman. They have kept me busy!! ^_^;
