Hong Kong: Asian beauty Wanda Yung Wai-Tak
Born of a German Mother and Chinese Father, WandaYung was raised in Hong Kong
- as a stubborn tomboy. She says she diiddn't wear a dress till after
University graduation.
1989 had her wearing dresses for beauty pageants - where she was Miss
Photogenic and Miss Swim-wear. She went on to do schlocky Chinese TV roles -
but encountered trouble because of her height (6 feet!)... no leading men
could "measure up." Someone suggested she be a model... to which she said
"euh - I don't wanna wear a dress!"
Well, she's worn many a dress since - and we've got pictures to prove it.
More trouble awaited in Europe - where Wanda wasn't considered "Chinese
enough."
But her contribution to the fashion industry - and her country, has gone
undaunted. Says Wanda: "we (Chinese) need to pull together and support our
own culture." She's willing to do free shoots for local Hong Kong designers -
and says she gets upset when Europe just repackages Chinese style - and calls
it haute couture.
Case in point, John Galliano for Dior.
Height: 179 cm; Weight: 56 kg; Measurments: 33-24-36.5

Kelly Chen Wai-LamTVB Actor, Singer. Faye Wong impersonator.
Gillain Chung Yan-TungHong Kong Actor, Singer. (see the pattern?) Former intern at EEG, former model. Part of the annoying duo Twins, "Ah Gil" as her close friends call her, has taken over the HK entertainment industry with terrible singing to force us to listen to their dumb songs, movies, commercials, books, games, etc. So scary. This is what sleeping with the boss gets you.
Zhang ZiyiMainland Actor. See her with Chow and Michelle Yeoh in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. AKA Gong Li II.
Denise Ho WincyTVB Singer. Relative newcomer, her albums broke the barrier of typical Canto Pop...although her affiliations come in question, she is quite a decent artist!! Used to host the TVB video show that aired at 2 am.
Angelica Lee Sum-KitTaiwan Actor, Singer. Starred in The Eye with Leon Lai Ming and caught everyone's attention. Not a bad singer either.
Flora ChanTVB Actor, Singer. Claims to be fluent in English and can't read Chinese, she sure is making a damn good living starring opposite all the TVB Big Guns. Used to hate her, but she proved me wrong with her versatility.
Danielle GrahamHong Kong Model. Everyone's favorite half-breed model, we seen her sporting Bossini to Giordano to Oil Olay to jewlery shops...oh so nice too look at.
Candy Lo Hoi-YenHong Kong Actor, Singer. The so-called "alternative" artist, she was singing a mix of sappy ballads and rock tunes before her big hit in 2002 scored her the disease of "overkill" ... still, she did land some movie roles and concert gigs.

Sally Yeh aka Yip Sin-ManTaiwan Singer and Actor. Grew up in Canada! Veteran singer with the ultamite voice. Well, good enough to be the Canto-popster to sing the Titanic song. Married to George Lam Che Cheung, my favorite Canto-pop singer.
Gong LiMainland Actor. Considered talented and beautiful. I'm on the fence for this.

Law LanTVB Actor. Long time "8" poh in the old black and white movies, she continues to be the crazy senile grandma everyone loves. In movies, her twisted fortune teller woman garnered her a best actress win.
