GENEVA, Nov 6 (AFP) - The World Health Organisation (WHO)
said aid agencies would press ahead with a three-day immunisation campaign
against polio in Afghanistan on Tuesday but admitted they would probably
not reach the five million children targeted.
"Obviously the idea would be to reach every child in Afghanistan, given the current circumstances it's not likely that we'll reach all five million children in Afghanistan," WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl told journalists. |

Hartl said the campaign over the next three days by local
workers will give priority "on those in dire circumstances". In late September
the WHO said it managed to give about five million under five year-olds
their first vaccinations.
