On 26 May 2008 in the morning, responding my
friends replies about my experience of walking with no talking with
Marilisa, I wrote to my friend Prasad about my often came earlier than
others in the class room at Senior High School, because I was riding a bus
so I started early from home. Sometimes I was only with my friend Betsy in
the classroom since she was also often came early.
Then later on at the same day I read the news
on TV about French movie “The Class” winning the Palm d’Or Prize at Cannes
Film Festival. Although the prize was given one day earlier than my
letter, yet for me it was still a nice coincidence.

On 23 May 2008, responding to my story about
waking with no talking with Marilisa, my friend Sydney Arief Samad
sent SMS message for me asking the cell phone number of Marilisa. Because
he misunderstood the story, he thought she was having SMS conversation
with me by cell phone. I clarify to him that it was SMS bus that I meant,
not SMS like in today’s cell phone.
That SMS from my friend Sydney was after my
Searching for "CD" Diplomatic License Plate, which resulted in my
finding a car with license plate number CD 59 18, a New Zealand diplomatic
car. Although the number 18 was to determine that it was the staff car,
but it also reminded me with CD 18 which is from Australian embassy. And
in Indonesian word, car's license plate is known as "nomor polisi".
Then came the news about Sydney
Pollack, the prolific US director, producer and actor, the
Oscar-winning romance "Out of Africa" and the cross-dressing comedy
"Tootsie", died at the age of 73. It was certainly not a nice coincidence
for me.
