Subject:  After My Down, Chrisye And Casa 212 Crashes

A goat satay evening at Sate Jono, attended by ten people. For me it became a Cancelled Satay Gathering  because on that day I needed to replace the broken window with the new one, and I worked it until the dusk making me unable to attend the goat satay evening.

Gathering At Warung Daun, that sounds like "down", attended by 32 people from 46 registered on the list. It was to welcome my friend Herry who came to Jakarta from the Netherlands, also replace the goat satay evening for those who were unable to come. And one day earlier a Casa 212 crashed at the foot of Mount Salak.

A view at the gathering in Canton Bay restaurant, 28 March 2007. It was supposed to be at Crystal Jade on third floor but then moved down to Canton Bay at the basement of Plaza Senayan. Then two days later on 30 March 2007 Chrisye, a famous Indonesian singer, died.

The Casa 212 from Squadron 4 crash on Thursday 26 June 2008 that killed 18 people, just one day before my attending ex-senior high school friends gathering at restaurant Warung Daun, whereas the word Daun sounds like “down”, became the second time tragic death. The first time was in 28 March 2007, after my visit to the monthly gathering that was supposed to be at Crystal Jade on third floor but then moved down to Canton Bay at the basement of Plaza Senayan, then two days later on 30 March 2007 Chrisye, a famous Indonesian singer, died like I wrote in "So Long Chrisye"

The difference is that in the first occasion, the death of Chrisye was two days after my attending the then "moved down" gathering, while in the second occasion the Casa 212 crash with 18 deaths was one day before my attending the gathering at Warung Daun that sounds like "down".

I still have no idea about what could be the message for me, instead of my having to keep consistent with my consent to move up to the eternity soon.

Subject:  Wind’s Request For Writing Window’s Break

After my letter of Indiana Jones 4 Released on May 22 Almost Worldwide dated 1 June 2008, I wrote no more letter again for several days because my mind and energy were occupied in repairing the bathroom from some damages caused by termites. Even when I sometimes visited the Internet, I only wrote messages in mailing list of my ex-senior high school friends or in the multiply.com related to my intention of developing a business relationship with Chief Editor of Cosmopolitan Indonesia.

On Sunday 6 June 2008, actually I had make up my mind to continue these letters, but there was a problem in writing text inside a picture of a map from Google. I used MS Word, Paint, and FrontPage, but still unable to insert the text. Finally on Tuesday I could do it using Adobe Photoshop.

And there was something strange on Tuesday morning, by the time I prepared to leave the house, the wind blew rather stronger than usual, shaking the trees around me. The next day, Wednesday, in the morning it happened again, the wind blew rather stronger than usual shaking the trees around me, and on that day I managed to write the story of “Wind That Breaks Window Glass By AC Unit”.

On Thursday morning, no more such strange wind. It made me feel like the strange wind on Tuesday and Wednesday morning had the meaning that the wind was making a request for me to rush the writing of that “Wind That Breaks Window Glass By AC Unit”.

Subject:  Repairing the Bathroom from Termite Damages

The bathroom sink that was damaged by termites in some part of it, especially in the rack that separated the top and bottom part of the small cupboard under the sink.

A neon lamp that used to be on top of the mirror above the bathroom sink, needed to be replaced because it was broken in some parts inside.

Inside part of the small cupboard under the sink needed to be covered with the mixture of cement and sand, also to make some handles to hold the rack in the middle.

It began on Monday 9 June 2008, when I opened the small cupboard under the bathroom sink, I found that the rack that separated the top and bottom part had been damaged by the termite. The rack made of wooden board, approximately half an inch thick, was almost occupied entirely by termites nest, yet the termites had gone.

I could only spot an earthen pipe in the back corner, straight up to the back of the mirror. It made me think that the new nest could have been behind the mirror. I tried to open the bottom frame of the mirror, but it was not easy, beside I was afraid it could drop the mirror and broke it. The next day I could break the frame and left some part to keep the mirror on it place. Then Wednesday, with the help of the gardener, I opened the mirror and found that no termites behind it, only the clean white porcelain tiles. The frame surrounding the left right and top of the mirror also clean.

The only possible way was behind the sink, and although all part of the bathroom wall covered by porcelain tiles, but some two or three tiles behind the sink were not attached, probably to give way to the water pipes that go directly to the ground. And there could also be the way where the termites go in and out.

My solution is to replace the wooden frame at the bottom of the mirror with cement frame. Also to make a new rack from a wooden unused painting frame and a triplex board. While the neon lamp on top of the mirror also damaged, so I need to replace it with new save energy lamp and it required extra work too because the place of former neon lamp should be covered with plastic.

Most of all, it becomes not so easy work for inexperienced handyman like me, the work based on "trial and error and keep on retouching again and again".
