Hi again. It's not really new news to report that Amy Honey has been moonlighting on us with her fabulous solo efforts. She's even been on a western Canadian tour! Her album, done with the help of her friends is called 'Self Titled' and you can pick it up at her own record store Redcat Records located at 4307 Main Street, Vancouver, BC. What's up with clover honey, you ask? Well, we actually have 2 new songs in the crock pot, slow roasting away. Hopefully by our next show - March 8th - they'll be ready!

SEPTEMBER 28, 2002
YES, WE'RE BACK! (doesn't that sound familiar)
Actually, we've always been here but my lazy, and newly married ass has finally decided to get down to business and update this puppy.

JANUARY 27, 2002
YES, WE'RE BACK!
Inspiration & opportunity to play again has come from some of our good friends in bands.  Special thanks to Station A, Notes From Underground, and The Nasty On for the most recent shows.  The good response and good times have spurred us to move forward and continue rockin'!

APPEARANCE ON NEW COMPILATION!
WorldWideDomination, a local promotion collective has put out a new zine that includes a local music compilation.  Our song, Fiyah, is represented.  Go to the site for more info on how to get a copy.

What else has happened in the last seven months?  Amy is booking a new restaurant/small venue on Main St. called The Main.  The food is fabulous and the vibe is swell.  Check it out at Main & 26th Ave.  I'm back at school studying to become a teacher and got engaged to my sweetie Rolfie!  The big day is in August.

JULY 4, 2001
BIG NEWS!  WE'RE LOOKING FOR A 4th MEMBER!
As it turns out, Lauree would like to play more guitar while not completely giving up the drums so we're looking for a girl drummer who can also play either the guitar or organ/keyboards.  Transportation and gear are essential as well as a good attitude and commitment to practicing twice a week.  If interested please email us at cloverhunnie@hotmail.com.

THANK YOU's are in order for our recent whirlwind tour:
We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of British Columbia through the Ministry of Small Business, Tourism and Culture.  Other very cool peeps (who I forgot to mention previously below) include Bill Thomlinson & his special gal, Lianne for letting us take over apartment & lives; Ma & Dad Binder for spoiling us; the fabulous duo of Denis & Alain for the warm Montreal hospitality; Mayor McCA & his cool roomies for the last-minute crash space; and Nancy Binder for risking her life on the road with us.

JUNE 17, 2001
Well folks, we're back in town.  We had a stupendously fun & brief little tour!  Uhh, the letdown & anticlimaxity of being back.  Amy's still in West Chezzetcook, NS and will be back in a little less than a week (for all you stalkers).

The highlights (lowlights ?) of our tour are as follows:

Early a.m. Day 1:  We take the overnight flight from Vancouver to T.O., are exhausted upon arrival, and need to pick up reserved rental minivan.  Rental man w/ extremely broken English and bad attitude explains "No minivan but you can have Tahoe".  Upon inspection we realize that a Chevy Tahoe is the biggest mofo type of vehicle legally allowed on street.  Lauree is horrified but I'm thinkin', "cool".  This puppy is fully loaded - cd player, Onstar navigation system, alarm, leather interior.  Wow!  We promptly name her the 'ho' and commence referring to ourselves as 'bitches in the ho'.  I'm getting verklempt just thinkin' about her.  Anyhoo, we go to Lauree's swell bro's place and attempt to drive the ho into his underground parking lot.  Not even thinking about things like vertical clearance I naively manage to get the ho stuck between the garage door above and the ground.  This is after jamming the ho 2/3's of the way in thinking that we can make it.  Oh, the horrible scraping noise in addition to the sound of the roof rack getting squished.  We attempt to go backwards but we're stuck and the garage door keeps opening and closing down loudly on the roof.  We're screaming and scared to get out of the ho cuz we might get squashed by garage door.  We managed to scrape our way out of there and now need to back up this weirly narrow downward sloping ramp.  I'm driving, Amy's in the back and Lauree's out trying to navigate us.  We've had, like no sleep and the situation is ludicrous.  Amy & I can't stop laughing while Lauree is stressing cuz I can't focus on backing this beast out of the garage.  I came very close to peeing my pants.  The prophetic thing about all of this is that after some discussion re: costly insurance back at rental place Lauree wisely decided on going all-out and getting the $27/day insurance w/ $0 deductible.  How convenient!

Day 2:  Back in T.O. after a poor performance the night before in Ottawa.  We'd played there with one Andrew Vincent.  If you don't know who I'm talking about then you really should.  This solo guitarist/singer is so damn good and witty.  The 3 of us love his song about Coolio, his girlfriend's dog - "Me an' Coolio down by the schoolyard".  He's on Kelp Records run by Jon Barlett of Ottawa's Rhume & Greenfield Main.  Many thanks to Ken Birchall putting on the show and the very lovely Jen Ciliska and her mysterious roommate for the place to stay!
Oh yeah, so we're in T.O. fixin' to play Ted's Wrecking Yard (part of the Wavelength Series) and Amy's rented Fender Twin amp seems to catch on fire - smoke & all.  We borrow amp from Picastro, the other band.  Since we really don't have our sound down at all with borrowed/rented gear, we have the worst sound ever.  It's all good, really though, cuz the peeps that run Wavelength are so great and supportive that we end up having a great time anyways even though I fully blank out on the song 'Long Gone' and end up making it some confused jam piece that peeps end up liking anyways referring to it as the Joy Division-esque song.  The eccentrically wonderful Doc Pickles is the emcee and Jonathan Bunce is the Man.  Thanks Jonny Dovercourt for the Rat!

Day 4:  Show in Hamilton at Raven.  We have a hell of a time finding a place to stay that night.  We had been chatting up a bunch of peeps trying to casually hint to them that we need a place to stay - "So, do you live by yourself?  So, do you live in Hamilton?  So, do you live with your boyfriend?" - those kind of beat-around-the-bush type questions.  Anyways, we score with noneother than Mayor McCA - Hamilton and Sonic Unyon's hometown hero!  CA, if you didn't know, is the ultimate one-man band/tap dancer/Hamiltonian mayoral candidate (he got 400 votes!).  The Mayor has a sweet cat and I got to sleep on a beanbag chair.  Probably not recommended by any chiropractor. We left the next morning with a copy of each of his cd's to keep us occupied in the ho.  Entertaining is the best way to describe his cd's!  The half-act tragedy of a barfly is the craziest thing we've ever heard.

Day 5:  Show in my hometown of Windsor, ON.  Good times!  Carly Marcoux, her Low Tones and The Redstripes provide us with an evening of joy!  My Ma & Pa show up, buy the table a round of drinks, look obviously annoyed by the loud music and then, in the middle of our set, my Dad walks up to the stage and announces they're leaving and wants to make sure I've got the keys to the house!  If I were maybe 20, I'd have been mortified but instead I laugh at him and how un-rock 'n' roll the whole situation is.  We sell 10 cd's!  Thank you Windsor!

Day 6:  Show at Call the Office in London w/ The Flashing Lights, The Dirtmitts & some dude named Matthew Jay.  Guess who opens?  You guessed it!  Us and our sorry asses even though Matthew Jay is some last-minute addition to the bill.  We find out later that he's on EMI or something and is some big buzz artist out of Wales.  Whatev.  We were actually the cover story of the local entertainment weekly, Scene.  Well, we decide that tonight's the night to par-tay since our friends from Vancouver, The Dirtmitts are there.  Party is exactly what ensues!  The Dirtmitts (whose entourage consist of 5 peeps) crash at our hotel room.  What crazy kids!  We love 'em!

Day 7:  The big NXNE show in Toronto.  We have one of our best shows ever and feel good!  The show is sponsored by Grenadine Records and is the CD Release Par-tay for their compilation 'Syrup & Gasoline Vol. II'  We finally get to meet the wonderful Alex & Eric of the Montreal label.  The room is packed for the bands which include the very excellent Music For Mapmakers, the tight and powerful Frenetics and the charmingly stylish Francophones Les Sequelles.  Chart has these NXNE Rock 'n' Roll Report Cards.  You should check ours out!  Mike D. from Detroit label Top Quality Rock 'n' Roll is there and we get lotsa goodies from him which later happen to be stolen by some mean person (those were my Hissy Fits cd's, you loser).  It was great seein' you again Mike!  Look for us to appear on an upcoming Patty Duke Fanzine 7" covering her song 'Half Hearted Kisses'.

Day 8:  Montreal at The Jailhouse.  We play w/ Luke Doucet (also of Vancouver's Veal) where he opens (!) and Animaltown.  Nobody really shows up except our fabulous hosts Denis & Alain and their gang plus Lauree's friend Marisa from Switzerland and my li'l sis, Nancy.  The fabulous Denis joins us onstage for 'Caroline' where he steals the show!  Back at Denis & Alain's place the party rages on until we hear birds chirping.  That was my cue for beddy-bye.  End of par-tay times.  Tomorrow we drive back to T.O., return the ho and fly back to 'No Fun City'.

In closing, it was a great time, most importantly because we all got along famously!  Good for us, girls!  I also have come to recognize the fact that I'm an addict - I'm addicted to any lip product by Bonne Bell.  It's gone on for years but lately it's come to a head.  My collection is bigger than ever!

Lipsmackers forever,
Anita Honey

MAY 13, 2001
We had an awesome show last night at The Anza Club with The Cinch & Mystery Machine.  Can I gush for a minute (as Lauree would put it)... The Cinch are beautiful rock 'n' rollin' peeps!  Killer songs, stage presence, style AND they're sweet!  More props to Notes From Underground.  They were in attendance as well as the cool kids from The Dirtmitts who we just happen to be sharing a stage in London, Ontario at Call the Office while on tour on June 7th!

The 2 songs we recorded with Tara & Katie are now in the mixing phase for the split 7" w/ The Organ.  We love those girls!

Our Ontario & Montreal tour is finally booked.  Included is a NXNE Toronto show - Sat, June 8th at 11:00 pm at Clinton's.  It's the Grenadine Records' showcase which doubles as the T.O. release party for their upcoming compilation 'Syrup & Gasoline 2'.  Bands included on the comp are us (duh!), Les Sequelles, The Frenetics, Elevator, The Dears, The Salteens/Scott Walker, Bionic, The Carnations, Music For Mapmakers... It promises to be awesome.

Back so soon?!
The studio sessions went soooooooooo smoothly.  How could I have neglected to mention where we recorded?  We recorded at the most posh, high-end, super-duper fancy studio Vancouver has to offer - THE WAREHOUSE!  The owner is noneother than Mr. Bryan Adams himself!  We recorded in the same room as did REM, AC/DC, Monster Magnet, Chris Isaak.
Genius Productions (aka Tara & Katie Sketch) is responsible for the session.  Many, MANY props go out to these terrific women!

Back with another update
...
We go into the studio tomorrow to record 2 songs - Fiyah & Giddyup - for the split 7" w/ The Organ. Tara & 'Katie Sketch/Organ' will be the engineers.  This couldn't be made possible without them.  You go, girls!

In other news...
Our plane tickets have been bought.  We'll be doing a short tour of Ontario & Quebec.  We fly out June 1 to Toronto and come back June 10.  If you have any shows for us, email us now!

The shows page has been updated.  Check it out!

Yessiree, the Slayer rumor is true!  The kings of thrash metal were attendees at the fabulous house party that us & The Ewoks played last month.  Ironically enough, they are immortalized on my bass with a sticker of their classic song, 'Angel of Death'. Wonder if they noticed?
(Note: Slayer are in town working on a new record.)

Another Long Overdue Update (JAN. 9, 2001)
We've been busy writing new songs. There's a few projects underway. First off, Jan. 6th marked the day we went back into the studio (well, really our practice space with a rented 16-track) and recorded with fabulous sound engineer, Rolf Hetherington (of Pluto fame & past clover honey producer). A new song - In the Hair Tonight - was recorded for the upcoming Grenadine Records' (Montreal, PQ) compilation 'Syrup & Gasoline Vol.II'.

Secondly, keep your eyes open for a split 7" with fabulous Vancouver band, The Organ (ex-Full Sketch with vocals), to be released sometime this spring.

'go horse go' our debut album has charted at #44 in chart magazine's top 100 albums of 2000. hey, we're right behind #43 cool chick carolyn mark & ahead of #45'er elevator.

2000 has been a great year with a swell X-Canada tour & great responses to the record! Keep checking back for local shows as well as a date or 2 in Seattle. Of course, another tour or two will pop up this year. When exactly? Who knows. Where? Maybe X-Canada again or down the west coast!

Oh yeah, don't forget to sign our NEW & IMPROVED guestbook before you surf on elsewhere.

Finally an update! (OCT. 20, 2001)

TOUR
We've been back exactly a month now & have been laying low. The tour was stupendous! We all got along nicely especially with the addition of a Mr. Jon Murphy. Jon was our 'label rep' (aka roadie). This was our second tour & things went smoother than the first. Jon was our 'buffer' man. Since girls can be catty bitches by nature, the addition of him helped ease the crabbiness. None of us had actually met Jon face-to-face before. He was the man behind the design of 'Go Horse Go' and a friend of Lance Rock Jack. We were all on our best behavior so as not to embarrass ourselves in front of this new guy.
Thanks again 'Door Ajar Jon' =)

Lotsa love to those who were very supportive esp. Mom & Dad Binder, Ken Birchall & A-Train Designs, Carly Marcoux & The Low-Tones, The Wavelength Zine & Series, Jonathan Bunce & Eye Magazine, Mel, James & the Calgary crew, the tres stylish trio of Denis, Alain & Zoot, Keith from Scratch, Ottawa Xpress, Rhume, See Magazine, Ryan Bigge (check him out on Shift TV!), Craig & Colleen @ The Night Gallery, Brent @ Edmonton's Likwid Lounge, Jailhouse Dom, Apollo Adam, Wess Hegg, Dr. Disc Windsor, Leslie Feist & 'Who's Yer Daddy' Daddy Szigeti!

CLOVER HONEY SONGS ON TV
2 Clover Honey songs are included in a 'Caitlin's Way' episode which can be seen on YTV sometime during October. 'Caitlin's Way' is in the same vein as 'My So Called Life' (adored that show!) except it's based in some rural, big-country-like setting. Caitlin even looks like Angela.
