Custom Avatars. You can design your own images to be used with the software to represent you or as gifts for your friends. Custom avatars can only be seen if they are resident in both the user and the viewers software. They are distributed in two ways. One: you can go to the CheetahChat Avatar Repository, look up your friends, find their avatars, and save them to the Avatar file folder in the software (note: avatars registered with CheetaChat do not retain exclusivity of use). Or, two: directly through the software by checking the preference variable General Preferences/Use Integrated Avatar Repository Support. This feature will automatically save avatars used by others to the Avatar file folder on your computer to be used again and again.

Specifications. Custom images should follow certain specifications to be recognized by the software and facilitate continued smooth operation. Your custom avatar should be no more than 48 pixels wide (or less) by 32 pixels high (fixed) in .jpg format and no larger than 2K in file size.

That's the CheetaChat official line for those to be submitted for their archive. We note that larger files will work, up to 5K and in either .bmp or in .jpg formats.

We present some custom avatars sets here based on familiar themes for your enjoyment. Click on one and save to your CheetaChat avatar folder. When you activate your CheetaChat, it will available for your use. There are zipped files of the graphics as well containing all those in the set labelled.
