Alpha is the subconcious, you can actively enter Alpha for magic work ... 'tis a trance state ...
Beta is the Wake State ... what we normall operate in
Delta would be very deep trance or Sleep ... sans dreams
Theta ....
[Markus] Theta is the sleep walking state, the mind a sleep, but senses are awake... ie, not walking into a wall
you don't know the wall is there, but you dont' walk into it either, cause the senses are functioning within the peripheral nervous system

[UncaPeach] correct ... Alpha actually allows us to travel ...
[Markus] what about seeing spirits? it is possible for them to be seen in Delta?

[UncaPeach] you may not recall the sighting ... Delta is very deep sleep

[Markus] Theta is the Sleep walking state... as unca put is the "advanced dream state" The senses function perfectly but do not register to the slumbering conscious mind
[UncaPeach] Delta may be dreamless, REM & Delta not always the same ... REM = Rapid Eye Movement

They are used specifically to induce alpha and 'visions'
These visions are psychic seeing, not the meditative type
