In coach Rick McGuire’s 18 seasons as the Tigers’ track coach, he has never seen so many of his own athletes at the NCAA Outdoor Cham-pionships, which were held in Eugene, Ore. Nine Tigers qualified for the championships, led by thrower Christian Cantwell, who finished fifth nationally in the shot put June 2. For the Tigers’ women, Ann Marie Brooks ran 4:19.14 in the 1500-meter earning fifth place and her third career All-American award.
