INTERNATIONAL ROLLER HOCKEY

RULES OF THE GAME

Chapter 1. Definitions

Article 1.
The game of Roller Hockey is played by two teams, each consisting of five players wearing roller skates, on a rectangular flat and level surface of wood, asphalt, concrete or other suitable material. Slippery surfaces are prohibited.

Article 2.
Matches can be played in the open air under most weather conditions either by day or under artificial lighting conditions at night, or in enclosed buildings. The necessary equipment includes a roller hockey stick for each player, a ball and two goal cages.

Each team will occupy one half of the rink, ends to be tossed for, and each player, using his stick only, will try to get the ball into the opponents' goal. The team scoring the most goals will win the match.

Two (or one) referees will be responsible for the enforcement of the rules and general supervision of the match. They will be assisted by timekeepers.
