The opening minutes of Hapoel Haifa were extremely threatening, but brought no goals; on the other end, it was Sahar Mizrahi (27) with a tremendous header to the bar of Dudu Awwat, after a great counterattack of the hosts. Giovanni Rosso finally managed to break the iceberg, one minute before the break, after a corner kick performed by Liron Basis. After the break, there was only one team left on the pitch - and it scored from the penalty of Rosso, after a foul of Yaron Avihail on Rami Aziz, and from a flat shot of Offer Talker after a huge mistake of Rothem Asraf. In between, a tremendous flat volley of Najouan Grayib met the left post of the hosts, and Shaul Smadja was lucky not to be noticed by the referee Arik Haimovich, when he parried the ball by hands outside the box; the same Haimovich, however, sent the substitute Erez Alpiya off with a 2nd yellow card, after a brutal foul on Najouan Grayib. And it was interesting to see a new celebration of Hapoel Haifa's goals - several people gather at one point, one of them makes a sign of shooting a signal rocket into the skies, and people fall apart radially, with just their legs left in the "meeting point" :-)

Incredible but true, the team of Avraham Grant left no chance at all to the team of Giora Spiegel, from the very beginning. After only 5 minutes, a wonderful Andrzej Kubica headed in a ball bounced by Moshe Glam; the same Glam caused a red card shown to Kolosevic (28). Early in the 2nd half, Alon Offir was sent off with a 2nd yellow card, but the forces didn't become even; on the contrary, Maccabee continued attacking dangerously time after time, and finally Kubica (66) sent a clever flat ball to Avi Nimni who rolled it home. 4 minutes from time, the best goal of the game was scored, when Nimni took the ball in the midcircle, penetrated between 5 helpless defenders and finally misled Shai Hess and rolled the ball into an empty net, an appropriate finishing effort to Maccabee Tel-Aviv's revival. The team of Spiegel is still the runner-up, but it needs to check out seriously why it sometimes fails in the important games.

An unexpected in its might concert of Maccabee Haifa started after 18 minutes of play, when Alon Mizrahi closed well the wide pass of Adoram Keisi, 1:0. The guests were very active from that moment on, and Victor Pacha created several good chances near the net of Nir Davidovich; however, just before the break, it was another wonderful action of Yossi Benayoun - the boy penetrated and shot powerfully from 16 meters, Strauber managed to save the ball in a great flight, but nobody of his dormant defence cared to clear the ball away from Alon Mizrahi, 2:0. The guests were broken here - a good combination of Mizrahi - Benayoun - Romatko gave the hosts another goal (54), and a foul on Yaniv Katan gave Mizrahi a chance to complete a hat-trick from the penalty spot (57). Amir Gola of the guests was sent off (76) with a 2nd yellow card, after a foul on Yossi Benayoun, and the wonderboy himself converted a free kick into another goal, with the help of the Jerusalemite defender; the most brilliant goal of the game, however, came later on, when Avishai Zhano bombed from 25 meters diagonally under the right crossbar of Strauber. In the garbage time, a quick and good counterattack of Joseph Costelnik and Victor Pacha resulted in the latter's sharp shot to the far corner of Davidovich, "only" 6:1.

No team could serve better for Beitar's recovery after the last week's loss than its old "friend", Hapoel Beit-Shean, in its current form - the coach Avraham Abukarat resigned after this game, as his demands to bring some players of quality to the team were denied. The opener came from the legs of Jean Talesnikov - he entered the box, misled the defender there and sent a clever ball to the far corner of Meir Cohen. Nir Sevilla headed the 2nd goal home after the break, and 11 minutes afterwards, his ball deflected from the box into the leg of Shai Elkaslassi and in, 3:0. Here started the performance of the defender Shmuel Levi, who first scored after a great solo penetration and then flew with a header to the pass of Istvan Salloi from the right wing. The last nail into Beit-Shean's coffin was put by Istvan Hamar during the last minute, after a sharp shot from the left edge of the box.

The most resultive game of this season, and 14th most resultive game ever in the history of the National League in Israel; Hapoel Tel-Aviv enjoyed immensely the bad day of Yaniv Mizrahi and the crazy day of Assaf Tubi and the substitute Shalom Tikwa, and for Rishon, the great day of Rafi Cohen was enough only for some reducers. It started with a free kick of Salim Tuama, which Mizrahi could only touch on its way inside, and it went on with a great pass of Kefir Udi to Assaf Tubi under the eyes of dormant and hesitant Mizrahi; a couple of minutes afterwards, Eyal Ben-Ami sent a clever ball to the far corner of Mizrahi near his stretched hands, 3:0. 3 minutes before the break, Rafi Cohen of Rishon reached the ball of Avi Pitusi, advanced and shot from 18 meters an unstoppable bomb under the bar of Shavit Elimelekh, 3:1; immediately after the break, a miracle seemed to be coming, when Golan Deri rolled it into the box, and Rafi Cohen managed to push his leg between the confusion of Shavit Elimelekh and 3 of his defenders (!) and to roll the ball in, 3:2. Even after a great goal pass of Assaf Tubi to Shimon Gershon who scored, Rishon seemed to be alive after a foul of Ron Nakhman on Udi Kabudi inside the box and a converted penalty of Nissan Capeta. However, here Rishon totally lost it, and from that moment on, it was a concert of Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Assaf Tubi continued with his trend and scored another 2 goals, after the great goal passes of Davor Rupenik and Shalom Tikwa, and finally, 10 minutes from time, it was the delicate finish of Shalom Tikwa to the incredible game. Tikwa sent an arched ball from 25 meters which hit the bar, and it was definitely not the day of Yaniv Mizrahi who tried in an acrobatic flight to reach this ball, but could only send it home after a deflection from the bar. 7:3.

Several good saves of Yaron Melika and an incredible penetration of Georgi Daraselia saved Holon yesterday from losing to Petakh-Tikwa in a disgraceful fashion. The hosts were attacking time after time, but could score only once, when Arthur Petrosian slid the ball with his head to Sharon Avitan, and the newcomer stopped it with his head, slid it to his chest and volleyed it home in a turn from 7 meters, a wonderful equalizer. 5 minutes from time, a comedy of errors in the defence of Holon finally gave Petrosian an opportunity to push the ball from between the fence of legs, but from 5 meters it found only the bar.

The first point this season to Maccabee Yaffa, which surprisingly opened the score in a quick fashion - a free kick of Nidal Mahamid found the bar, Sandy Valentinic headed the rebound to the post, and the rebound of the rebound was finally pushed inside by the young Imad Bukhari. Kefar-Saba was attacking vehemently, but a good skill of Irakliy Zoidze prevented it from equalizing; the referee Eitan Tavrizi finally helped the hosts, sending off Uzi Ohayon after a dubious foul on Adrian Ungur (62). 5 minutes afterwards, Itai Koren was knocked down inside the box, and Yaniv Avvargeal equalized from the white spot, 1:1. Nevertheless, the manager of Kefar-Saba, Moshe Sinai, was furious and promised to make a line-up revolution.

After a really dreadful 1st half, there came the 2nd half, totally different and full of opportunities. Alberto Naveda, the Argentinian midfielder of the hosts, found Gadi Hazut at the right wing, Hazut raised the ball into the box, and Tibor Balog headed the opener in, 1:0. Herzliya still managed to equalize, with a great shot of Yair Simhon from 20 meters under the right crossbar of a badly positioned Akakiy Devadze (the goal pass - Igal Entebbi), but it wasn't enough - Naveda found Amir Turgeman inside the box with a clever ball, and the best Southern scorer had no problems to beat the hesitant Gilardi, 2:1. For the team of Andrei Bal, it was the 5th consecutive loss, and it seems the absence of the injured Oleg Naduda badly hits the team; still, Andrei Bal doesn't seem to be ready to resign, and the management of the team seems to back him up despite everything.
