HIFK scored 2 goals on their three first shots and never were threatened despite the score. The game had no intensity and the teams lacked grit.

With the new HIFK coach, Mike Eaves, the special situation plays have clearly improved. HIFK won the majority of the face-offs and scored twice directly on a won face-off.

The game fired up, momentarily, when K-Espoo pulled one back to 3-4, but the level of play in the league has deteriorated from last year.
