This is a photo of Samantha Marchant and Chad Hawse performing a death spiral in practice. They were forced to withdraw from the 1998 Nationals, they didn't feel comfortable skating their free skate, because as you can see from the photo Chad had a broken hand. They were the 1997 Junior Pair Champions of Canada. And in Hamilton this year Samantha finished on the podium in the Junior Ladies event...either 2nd or 3rd, I can't remember which. Oh, and the photo is one I found in the Hamilton Spectator during the Nationals in January.
