++++++++++++++ ROAD DOG JESSE JAMES vs. BIG BOSS MAN ++++++++++++++++++

This match was not held under hardcore rules, therefore it was not for the hardcore title. Michael Cole made reference to the fact that the Corporation had asked for a non-hardcore style match on purpose. This was basically a squash match for the Boss Man. He was in control almost the entire way through with the exception of the last 3 minutes where Road Dog hit his usual dance spots.
WINNER: BIG BOSS MAN via PINFALL

++++++ Ken Shamrock (C) vs. Badd Ass Billy Gunn (I-C Championship) +++++

Ken Shamrock was in control for the majority of this match. Gunn had a few bursts of offense, but was on the defensive almost throughout the contest. Val Venis made a run-in to help Gunn and landed a DDT on Shamrock. This spurred Gunn to take control near the end of the match but made a crucial mistake by going to the top turnbuckle to hit a high risk move. As Gunn jumped, Shamrock moved and Gunn's ankle buckled on the canvas. Shamrock slapped on the ankle lock and Gunn tapped out very quickly.
WINNER: KEN SHAMROCK via SUBMISSION

+++++++++++ X-Pac (C) vs. Gangrel (European Championship) ++++++++++++++

This was a very quick match. There's no clear cut aggressor throughout. The match took a controversial spin however when X-Pac hit a flying crossbody onto Gangrel. As the two hit the ground, with X-Pac on top, the referee began to count. Gangrel reversed the hold just as the referee counted three. Gangrel thought he had won, which left him prone to a mistake.
Winner: X-Pac via pinfall

+++++++ Sable (C) vs. Luna (Women's Championship - Strap Match) ++++++++

Shane McMahon introduced Luna to the crowd and claimed that Sable would have to forfeit the World Title due to injuries sustained on Heat. Sable arrived and told the timekeeper to ring the bell. This was a standard strap match (Steve Austin vs. Savio Vega '96). This was also a very quick match with both women gaining and losing control. By strap match rules, to win the competitor must touch the four turnbuckle pads in succession. Luna had Sable wrapped up by the neck and was dragging her to each corner. Luna did not see that when she touched a turnbuckle pad Sable touched it as well. Just as Luna was about to touch the last pad, Sable's crazy fan jumped her and allowed Sable enough time to touch the last pad.
WINNER: SABLE via TOUCHING ALL FOUR TURNBUCKLES IN SUCCESSION

++++ Mankind (C) vs. The Rock (World Championship - "I Quit" match) ++++

Mick Foley once again brought the house down with a stellar performance. One of the best parts of this match were the replies the two combatants would give each other after being asked to say "I Quit". For instance, Mankind would ask the Rock to say the words "I Quit" and the Rock would say "I'm gonna kick your fat ass." One blown spot occurred when the Rock was readying to give Mankind the Rock Bottom on the Spanish announcer table. The table just collapsed. The match carried through the crowd, up the ramp, and around the entrance way. The Rock brought Mankind up to the second level loge seating and then sent him flying into the electronics. When Foley landed explosions went off (great spot). Rock handcuffed Mankind and then gave him twelve brutal chair shots. Suddenly when Rock asked him if he would say "I Quit" the loud speakers played a clip of Mankind saying "I Quit" from a prior week on RAW.
Winner: The Rock to become the new WWF World Champion

++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 30-Man Battle Royal +++++++++++++++++++++++++

* Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon highlights:

Austin and McMahon did indeed get it on for the first minute of the Rumble. Their fight carried into the stands and hen into the women's bathroom on the 2nd floor where Austin was ambushed by team Corporate. Austin was taken away in an ambulance and McMahon returned to ringside to commentate. Midway in the rumble, Austin drives the Ambulance back into the arena and makes his way back to the rumble. After clearing the ring, Austin again goes after McMahon. Austin destroys Vinnie Mac and is about to toss him over the ropes when the Rock arrives and distracts Stone Cold long enough for Vince to toss the Rattle Snake over the top rope to win the rumble. Afterwards Vince celebrates by imitating Austin drinking beer, while Austin chases the Rock to the back.

* Other Highlights:

- Terri Runnel's dress
- Road Dog's perfomance (ala Austin '96, throwing everyone out)
- Kane
