I just love HOCKEY! After all, it is the Coolest Game on
earth. I used to think that hockey was only about violence.
Boy, was I wrong. I am not saying fighting is not a big part of the
game (and I like it), but there are a lot more to it then just that.
The skills the players demonstrate on the ice are just amazing. It
is fast; it is mean; it is precise; it is gooooood.
There are a total of 27 teams in the NHL right now, and it is growing.
I am sure in the 1920s, no one would have imagine that there will be
hockey teams in California, and Texas; the hot climate areas. Hockey
is just too irresistible.
Maybe it is not as big as basketball, baseball, or football, but it
doesn't mean it is not better; I think it just doesn't have enough
publicity. Hockey is the most fun to watch. It is action all the
time. For some people, they just have to get used to the speed, and
they will see how exciting the game really is and how skillful
everyone is.
My favorite team is the Edmonton Oilers, and my favorite
player is the heart and soul of the team,
Todd Marchant.
The Oilers is the last hockey Dynasty. If weren't for some
unfortunate instances like : scoring on your own team at a critical
game, and trading the all time greatest player of NHL history, the
Oilers would have won at least 7 consecutive Stanley Cups
instead of 5 (which were in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, and 1990.) Well, I
guess that is life, right? (sigh ...)
