Tigne` Dragon Club
The Taekwondo Dragon club held its second quarterly gradings for this year on Saturday 22nd May 1999 at the Tigne` club. Present were Mr. Stephen Formosa who conducted the grading himself, Mr. Ryan Agius and Mr. Kenneth Calleja.
Seventeen students attended the gradings and all obtained their new rank successfully. All were tested on various aspects of Taekwondo, from basic techniques to the competitive side. Mr. Formosa conducted the grading up till black tab level. The examinations started at 1.15pm with those attempting yellow tab to be examined first.
The following are the students in their respective rank:-
Yellow Tab:- Baldacchino Jean Paul, Falzon Wilhelmina, Mifsud Joanna and Spiteri Rodianne.
Yellow Belt:- Borg Caprian and Gerada Dylan.
Green Tab:- Brincat Sarah Jane and Mallia Clayton.
Green Belt:- Borg Christian Paul.
Blue Belt:- Azzopardi Joseph.
Red Belt:- Garrett Darren Lee.
Black Tab:- Azzopardi Nicky, Azzopardi Dyan, Pisani Kane and Poulton Darryl.
Christian Paul Borg obtained the highest percentage amongst all, followed by Jean Paul Baldacchino and Caprian Borg. The gradings came to an end by the presentation of tabs and belts followed by a brief speech by the examiner.

Tiger Taekwondo Clubs
The Tiger Taekwondo Clubs are situated at Fgura and Marsa. Lessons are conducted by Mr. Ryan Agius who is also the president of these clubs, and the youth director of the Malta Taekwondo Federation, which is affiliated with the World Taekwondo Federation, The European Taekwondo Union and the Malta Olympic Commitee.
The Fgura club was founded in August 1996 by Ryan Agius and the Marsa club was founded three months later. Both junior classes aswell as senior classes are held.
At Fgura, the junior classes are run every Monday and Saturday whereas at Marsa, these are run every Tuesday and Thursday.
By now the members have successfully entered some competitions organized bt the Malta Taekwondo Federation, with some athletes ranked high.
6 year olds Nicky Azzopardi, Dyan Azzopardi, Sasha Meli and Ryan Agius. are taking part in the Celtic open W.T.F. competition which is going to be held on the 19th of October 1997.
