Butch was a seventh round pick in the '89 amateur draft. One of the Mets' top prospects, he possesses tremendous power. He led the Mets' minor leaguers in HR for the second consecutive season ('92-'93).
Had five hits in doubleheader vs. Rockies 7/23/96.
Butch, long considered a good power-hitting prospect by the Mets, celebrated his first full Major League season by becoming one of just three Mets in '96 to reach double figures in homers and finishing fourth on the team in RBI.
