HISTORY
The vessel was manufactured in Holland, Michigan. Completion date was November 12th, 1964.She was shipped to "Baars Yacht Sales", Pensacola, Fl. and sold in early 1965. This info I obtained from Chris Craft Archives, Mariner's Museum in Newport News, Va. I was able to obtain a copy of the original work order. This document gave me such information as:
Hull Number: 0001 (she was the first 36 footer built in 1965)
Weight: 16,325 lbs
Engines: T327 ci Fresh Water Cooled (she was re-powered in 1990 with 351 ci Fords)
Price: $23,590.00 base price. With optional equipment added and shipping the total price was $27,875.00. I figure by todays dollar that would equal $85,000.00 to $110,000.00
The work order also listed such things as the size and make of the anchor, the make of stove, what type and color decor, etc. I would love to know more of the history of this boat, but the chances are slim since the previous owner had very little information about the boat's past. I do know the boat spent the first 10-12 years in the
Florida panhandle area. She was moved to the Atlanta, Ga. area about 8 years ago. I would really like to know the original owner, but again the chances are slim I ever will. I can always hope someone will recognize the boat and remember that their uncle or granddad owned this boat. I can also sit and hope I win the lottery. I figure the odds are as good with one as it is the other.
These were taken the day the boat was delivered. (10/06/96)
