Hi! Welcome to the 2001/2002 season! I am late as usual - but we've only played 3 games! (Lost 2, won 1). However, not a lot has changed (except the manager and that the 89ers are now the Whitecaps - and that we only have 6 players left from my bunch of precious trading cards from last season - see them below!). Tonight, the Sounders are hosts to the Northern Nevada Aces (though playing at the Interbay Stadium? Must ask why!) and much chattering has been going on about which songs/chants to greet them with. Seems like their going to get a few choruses of "Score in a brothel; You couldn't score in a brothel ....." which I'm sure they'll enjoy!
OK, here are the lads whose trading cards I have - so they are my friends, in other words, and therefore I will take special note of them and report on anything good/bad/splendid that they might get up to in the coming few months! (Game 1, Viet got a booking for a trip from behind; tut. Game 2, Scott booked for complaining, Viet for a foul. Game 3, GOALS from Scott and Kei (awesome!) - Viet booked for tripping from behind, 75", SENT OFF for altercation *sigh*.)

Started most of the 1999 season until foot injury hampered his play. Solid midfielder/defender... likes to push forward. Previously played for Seattle Bigfoot (USISL - yeah!!!!!!!) and University of Washington. Graduated from Redmond H.S. and enjoys traveling, reading and outdoor activities. |

Member of Sounders 1995 Champtionship team. Played collegiate soccer at Whitworth College (1989-93). Graduate of Mt. Si H.S. in Snoqualmie, WA. Son of former Sounder player Frank Barton. Married and enjoys outdoor activities, especially golf. |
 | KEI KINOSHITA, MIDFIELDER. Height: 5' 10" Weight: 160 Birthdate: 9/9/71 Born: Sekalminato, Japan Home: Bellevue, WA Years Pro: 5 Starting 4th year with the Sounders. Did not play in 1999 in order to pursue business interests. Previously played for Vissel Kobe of the J-League (1994-96), tallying 63 points, and for Kawasaki Steel, FC (1989-94), both in Japan. First Japanese player to play American professional soccer. Married and enjoys books and traveling. |
 | VIET NGUYEN, FORWARD. Height: 5' 7" Weight: 145 Birthdate: 8/6/76 Born: Tacoma, WA Home: SeaTac, WA Years Pro: 1 Played 25 games and started 10 as a rookie with the Sounders last year. Fast, quick player who takes a majority of the teams corner and free kicks. Territorial A-League draft selection from the University of Washington. Played 69 games at UW with 15 goals and 11 assists. Enjoys movies, classic novels and basketball. |
 | CRAIG TOMLINSON, FORWARD. Height: 5' 9" Weight: 160 Birthdate: 10/31/72 Born: Kingston, Jamaica Home: Seattle, WA Years Pro: 3 On loan for Wichita Wings (NPSL) for the 2000 season. Previously played for the Tennessee Rhythm and was leading scorer with 12 goals and 4 assists in 23 regular season games. Played for the Central Coast Road Runners (PDL-USISL) in 1998.
