FIFA RANKINGS (Current)

Cetvrti na svijetu!!!!!!

Allez les Bleus! The latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking issued today fully reflects the results of the 16th FIFA World Cup. Among the big winners are semi-finalists Croatia (4th, up 15) and Netherlands (8th, up 17) and, above all, newly crowned World Champions France (2nd, up 15). Former champions are about to lose their supremacy after camping on the summit for more than four years. Other teams climbing up the ladder include Italy (8th, up 9) who leap-frogged back into the Top 10 as well as Romania (13th, up 9), Denmark (18th, up 9), Austria (23rd, up 8) and Cameroon (40th, up 9). The losers include teams such as Colombia (17th, down 7), USA (19th, down 8) and Japan (22nd, down 10) as well as teams which did not make it to the World Cup finals (Russia 28th, down 12; Ecuador 41st, down 15; Bolivia 54th, down 21). Thus, the World Ranking proved its value yet again as the most reliable index in world football: out of the 32 finalists only Nigeria (64th, up 10) have not made it into the best 40 teams yet, all quarter-finalists with the exception of Denmark are to be found in the Top 10. The number of points reaped by the Netherlands (5.15, 5-0 win over Korea Republic) and France (4.96, 3-0 win over Brazil) are among the highest totals ever scored in the history of the World Ranking.
