I'd like to say right now that, since I have yet to get any versions of SimCity 2000 than the DOS version, these cheats are the only ones I've actually tested. Also, there's no cheat to increase your population (Arcos help, buuuut...) so you still have to have a litle smidgen of strategy in building your cities =)On with the cheats!!!!!!
SimCity 2000 DOS cheat codes
These cheats supposedly work for all versions of SimCity 2000 for DOS except where noted.
The following codes allegedly work with all versions of SimCity 2000, whether DOS, Windows, or even *gasp* Mac... =)
Phantom Water Pump--Gets rid of "Water Shortage" messages:
1.Pick an area away from your city and dezone a 3x3 section
2.Put a water pump in the middle of the section and connect it to power
3.Don't connect any pipes to this pump ever
I tried this procedure, and although it makes the water value in the graph shoot up to 100%, it doesn't really do much.
Magic eraser--"erase" structures, build over them, yet keep the population from the old structure+ the new structure:
1.First, back-up your city in case you screw up...*can't be too careful =)*
2.Click on the water/tree icon
3.Select Trees
4.Hold down the shift key and the left mouse button
5.Slowly drag the mouse cursor over the tiles you want to erase while holding the mouse button
Make sure you don't erase any tiles you don't want to... I don't usually do this, so...
FUND Cheat--Gives you $1.4 Mil a year income
1.Start a new city
2.DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!!!
3.Type FUND--accept the bond
4.Type FUND again and take the bond
5.Open the budget window
6.Open the bonds window (click on the little book)
7.Click on issue bond(the rate should be .%, if not you messed up...;) Accept the bond.
8.Click on repay bonds and repay the two 25% bonds
9.Now, close the windows, and every year, you'll get more money than you'll ever be able to spend!!! =)
This cheat is wonderful if you've ever wanted lots of moolah for your little city =) However, I've heard that if your total cash goes over 2 billion, it's the equivalent of $0 in the game, and you get kicked out of office, so...might wanna be careful.
MEGA Cheat--Gives you $500k and all the rewards (Mayor's House, City Hall, Arcologies,etc.) My personal favorite.
1.Make sure you've selected the centering tool
2.Press CTRL-F3
3.Click on the left rotate button
4.Click on the Resize button (little square on the bottom-right corner of the main city window)
5.Click on the weather icon in the status bar
6.Click on the Population button (little button with people on it)
7.Click anywhere inside the city window
8.Go to the disasters window and select the line between Riots and No Disasters
After you've done all this, you should hear a cheer and the rewards button will have everything in it. If you want more than one house, one city hall, loads of statues, or more llama domes, just repeat the cheat. It seems like a bunch of really random stuff but it's not =)
I said I would tell you about the Church Virus, right??? Well, it's when churches invade your city. Something like 50% of your residential areas turn into churches. I'm not sure if this is right, but I think to get rid of it you have to save your game, exit SC2000, re-enter it, load the city, destroy all the churches in paused mode, and re-zone the areas they were on.
Well, that's all my cheats for now =) Maybe I'll put up Windows or Mac cheats later, but I'm a lazy-butt, so we'll see...=)
