Achievements: Andy competed for Malaysia on their National Team from 1981 to 1983 representing them in the Thomas Cup (1984-86) as well as in the Asian Games and World Championships in 1987. He was ranked as the Number 3 Singles player in Malaysia from 1986 to 1988 and has achieved a World Rank as high as Number 22 in Singles (1987). Andy came to the US in 1990 and has won in more than 20 significant American tournaments. He has represented the United States on the National Team, the World Championship Team and the Thomas Cup team and has been ranked as the Number 1 player for Singles (1992 to 1993) as well as for Mixed Doubles as recently as last year. Andy was awarded the prestigious Ken Davidson Award in 1996. Andy was sidelined in 1996 with a broken left hand and took the time off to pursue and obtain a bachelor's degree in International Business and Finance. Andy has just relocated to Massachusetts, where he will coach the junior program at the Gut 'n Feathers club. He is also getting back in shape, and made an impressive showing at the 1998 Boston Open, winning in doubles, mixed doubles, and coming in second in singles.
