SUMMERSLAM


The night started out with a live edition of Sunday Night Heat on the USA Network. Shawn Michaels came to the ring with the crowd exploding with cheers. He came over to commentate for the night.

Animal and Darren Drozdov were to take on Too Sexy in a tag match. Hawk with his LOD 200 helmet on said he was going to wrestle. Animal was able to suplex both men at the same time with Hawk in the corner. Hawk went up to the top, but he fell on Animal. Scott Taylor rolled up Animal for the upset. WINNER: TOO SEXY.

Shawn Michaels introduces Sable to the ring. Sable says that her partner is not one of the Oddities. Meanwhile, Sable asks Michaels to dance with her.

Gangrel took on Dustin Runnels. Runnels and Gangrel switched momentum throughout the bout, but a 1/4 brainbuster by Gangrel got the win. WINNER: GANGREL.

The Fink with a new doSouthern Justice and Jeff Jarrett head to the ring to shave off the hair and mustache of WWF ring announcer Howard Finkel.

Steve Austin is shown throughout the show with a sledgehammer waiting for Kane and Undertaker too drive in. Many WWF officials try unsuccessfully to get it from him.

Bradshaw and Vader takes on the Disciples of Apocalypse. Vader and Bradshaw are not working too well, and the argument leads to Bradshaw knocking down Vader. Vader is rolled up. WINNERS: DISCIPLES OF APOCALYPSE.

The Nation of Domination came out, but so did Degeneration X. The two brawled as Steve Austin is shown beating up a Hearst that had just pulled up.

The pay per view started with Val Venis taking on WWF European champion D'Lo Brown. Val Venis took too much time hit the money shot, and Brown knocked Venis off the ropes. Brown then went for his frog splash but missed. Val Venis then shoved the referee to the ground after the referee try to stop Venis from using Brown's chest protector in the match. WINNER BY DQ: D'LO BROWN.

The Insane Clown Posse rapped the Oddities to the ring for their match with Kaientei. The Oddities dominated the match with their size advantage. Kurrgan and Giant Silva each took a man in each hand and did a four man chokeslam. Golga then pinned all four Kaientei members. WINNERS: THE ODDITIES.

Howard Finkel accompanied X-Pac in his match with Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett seemed to be getting a win with the figure-four, but X-Pac kept his strength through the pain. He reached the ropes. X-Pac was able to get the guitar of Jarrett and hit him with it. The win was X-Pac's, but the New Age Outlaws and the Headbangers helped make sure Jarrett's head was cleanly shaven. WINNER: X-PAC.

Marc Mero and Jackie faced Sable and Sable's mystery partner Edge. The match was all for all. It did not stay male-male and female-female. Sable was able to hit a TKO on Jackie, but Mero made the save. Sable was able to hit a hurancurana on Mero, but Jackie made the save. Edge hit his downward spiral on Mero, and he threw Sable on Mero for the pin. WINNERS: SABLE and EDGE.

Shamrock victorious over the Den A round caged in area with nine feet high walls was the setting for a match with Owen Hart taking on Ken Shamrock. The two used the cage nicely, but no one had a clear advantage till Shamrock was placed in the sharpshooter. Shamrock escaped the moved, and he was soon able to lock in the ankle lock submission for the tap out. WINNER: KEN SHAMROCK.

Vince McMahon forced Mankind to wrestle alone against the New Age Outlaws in a no holds bout. Mankind was easily beaten after a spike piledriver on a tag belt. The New Age Outlaws then threw Mankind in a dumpster, but Kane jumped out. Kane then wheeled the dumpster with Mankind inside to the back. WINNERS AND NEW WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS.

Hunter holds the IC belt with glory The ladder was set in the aisle as Rocky Maivia and Hunter Hearst Helmsley battled it out in a ladder match. The ladder came quickly into play with Maivia get busted by it. A new ladder was soon dragged in. This one was match taller. Maivia went as far as hitting the people's elbow on Helmsley, who was lying on the ladder. Mark Henry throwing powder in the eyes of Helmsley did not seem to stop the determination of the Degeneration X member. Chyna helped matter by giving Maivia a low blow. Helmsley climbed the ladder, and he secured the belt for the win. WINNER AND NEW WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY.

Austin retains his title strapSteve Austin started off with the advantage against the Undertaker. The two men fought on the outside, and when they got back in, Undertaker had full control. He went back to the outside with Austin. He set Austin on the Spanish broadcast table. Undertaker hit Austin with a leg drop from the ropes. The table did not break, and Undertaker rolled Austin in for a two count. Undertaker went to walk the ropes, but Austin hit Undertaker. Undertaker fell into the stunner. The Undertaker handed Austin the belt, and then walked from the ring. WINNER: STEVE AUSTIN.
