MATCH ONE: THREE WAY DANCE FOR THE WWF HARDCORE TITLE MATCH
"BADD ASS" BILLY GUNN (Champion) vs. AL SNOW vs. "HARDCORE" HOLLY
This match was not very Hardcore at all. The majority of it occurred on
the outside of the ring, however, neither of the three really showed an
advantage. Holly goes under the ring looking for a table but Snow finds
a hockey stick and uses it. Holly finds a broom and has the hockey stick
broken over him by Badd Ass. Snow gains control again and brings the two
into the ring with a table as well. Snow sets the table in the corner
and B.A. Billy Gunn goes outside for a chair. Snow gains control again
briefly, only for B.A. to nail Holly with the chair and then put Snow
through the table via a hiptoss. B.A. hits his Rocker Dropper legdrop
on Al Snow on a chair and goes for the pin, but Holly interrupts with a
chair shot on Billy Gunn and pins Snow himself.
WINNER: HARDCORE HOLLY via PINFALL NEW WWF HARDCORE CHAMPION
MATCH TWO: WWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
JEFF JARRETT & OWEN HART w/ DEBRA (Champions) vs. D'LO BROWN & TEST
Debra brings the champions down to the ring in a bikini. The match
starts off fast with Brown and Test taking advantage until Hart hits the
insaguri. Test and D'Lo begin to argue. The match comes to a close,
after D'Lo hits the Sky High powerbomb and goes for the cover. Debra
gets on the apron and is yanked down by Ivory. As the two argue, Terri
Runnels arrives and distracts Ivory. Back in the ring, D'Lo is going for
another powerbomb when he gets hit with the missle dropkick from Hart.
Jarrett then rolls him up.
WINNERS: JEFF JARRETT & OWEN HART RETAINING THE WWF TAG TEAM TITLES
MATCH THREE: BRAWL FOR ALL
BART "THE HAMMER" GUNN vs. BUTTERBEAN
REFEREE: VINNY TAZIENZA
JUDGES: KEVIN ROONEY, CHUCK WEPNER, GORRILLA MONSOON
Round One: The bell rings, and it is all Butterbean who has Bart Gunn
shaking after a stern right hand. Gunn's against the ropes when Butter-
bean hits a right to the back of Gunn's head which sends him to the mat.
Second after Gunn rises, Butterbean sends him down for good with a stiff
right hand. After the match, the Philidelphia Chicken mascot comes down
and challenges Vinny Tazienza and gets an uppercut for his troubles.
WINNER: BUTTER BEAN via KNOCKOUT
MATCH FOUR: TO DETERMINE THE SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE FOR MAIN EVENT
MANKIND vs. "THE BIG SHOW" PAUL WIGHT
"Big Show" proved his worth in the beginning of this match by dominating
Mankind. Any offense Foley had was quickly put down by the Gia...er...
"Big Show". Surprisingly Mankind was able to apply Mr. Socko. It took
three rounds of Socko to finally bring the big man to his knees however.
"Big Show" finally broke the hold by standing up straight with Mankind
on his back and dropping straight down. Wight then hit Mankind with a
wicked chair shot. Wight set up two chairs in the middle of the ring and
chokeslams Mankind through it. The referee disqualifies the "Big Show".
Vince McMahon then comes to the ring and begins to berate the and gets a
big punch in the mouth from the "Big Show". Mankind is carried out in a
stretcher.
WINNER: MANKIND via DQ; MANKIND WILL BE SPECIAL REFEREE FOR MAIN EVENT
MATCH FIVE: FATAL FOUR WAY FOR WWF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE
ROAD DOGG JESSE JAMES (Champion) vs. VAL VENIS vs.
GOLDUST (w/ RYAN SHAMROCK & BLUE MEANIE) vs. KEN SHAMROCK
VAL VENIS: So the Big Valbowski is up for the Intercontinental title
agian? Well ladies don't worry, not even this belt will keep his pants
up.
This match starts off chaotically with the four men brawling it out.
Road Dogg and Shamrock finally begin the match. Eventually, Goldust and
Venis enter with Venis scoring many near falls. At one point, Road Dogg
and Shamrock hit DDT's on Venis and Goldust respectively. Shamrock is
tagged in and Venis and Shamrock brawl out to the entrance ramp and are
counted out and eliminated, leaving Goldust and Road Dogg. The end comes
as Goldust is whipped into the ropes and Ryan Shamrock trips him up
accidentally. Road Dogg rolls the Golden One up and gets the 1-2-3.
WINNER: ROAD DOGG via PINFALL RETAINING THE WWF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE
MATCH SIX: TRIPLE-H vs. KANE
This match was a long time coming after the last three weeks of fire
hurling on RAW. Triple-H starts the match by attacking Kane from behind
after coming through the crowd. The match goes back and forth with Kane
hitting a over-the-top-rope plancha on the arena floor. The tide in the
match turns when Kane misses a top rope clothesline and Chyna arrives at
ringside. Chyna sends the steel steps into the ring and Kane attempts
to use them, but the plans backfire and Triple-H is in control. Kane
nails the chokeslam and Chyna jumps up on the apron and asks Kane if she
could finish the job. Instead, she nails Kane with a chair and Triple-H
finishes the job with a Pedigree. The referee disqualifies Triple H and
Chyna embraces him. Chyna is back with DX.
WINNER: KANE via DISQUALIFICATION
Prior to the Kane/Triple H match Mr. McMahon had the "Big Show" arrested for assault. After the match, Kevin Kelly tells the world that Mankind has gone to the hospital. McMahon then tells Kevin Kelly that himself will indeed referee the Main Event.
MATCH SEVEN: WWF WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH
SABLE (Champion) vs. TORI
This match was the quickest of the night and it still went on too long.
Sable was impressive when she hits a plancha onto Torri from the ring
apron. Torri was unimpressive by wearing a skin tight cat suit, that
had cat skin print all over it. The match came to a close when big
Nicole Bass made her WWF debut and press slammed her. One Sable Bomb
later, Torri goes back to being nobody special.
WINNER: SABLE RETAINING THE WWF WOMEN'S TITLE
MATCH EIGHT: WWF EUROPEAN TITLE MATCH
SHANE MCMAHON w/ TEST (Champion) vs. X-PAC
Before this match, DX had an interview together (again) with Chyna. As
it would turn out this match held the biggest surprise of the night. As
X-Pac enters the arena, he is jumped by Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson,
but displells of the stooges easily. Shane McMahon was actually a great
competiotor in this match. Of course, Shane had his Greenwich "Mean
Street" crew in the frount row for back up. Shane taunted X-Pac with a
Karate Kid pose to begin things. X-Pac could not get much going however
due to interference by Test. Shane pulled out some good moves including
a well placed elbow from the second turn buckle. X-Pac finally has the
advantage and hits the Bronco Buster. Test attempts to interfere but
gets hit with the Bronco Buster as well. Finally, out comes Triple-H and
Chyna to help X-Pac, but instead Chyna distracts the referee as Triple-H
hits the pedigree ... on X-Pac!!! Triple-H rolls Shane O Mac on top of
X-Pac and the ref counts the 1-2-3. Chyna didn't go home to DX, Triple-H
jumped ship to the Corporation.
WINNER: SHANE MCMAHON via PINFALL RETAINING THE WWF EUROPEAN TITLE
MATCH NINE: HELL IN A CELL
THE UNDERTAKER vs. BIG BOSSMAN
The most exciting part of this match was the Undertaker's new entrance
music and theme song. This match did not due justice to the blood shed
in the past Hell in a Cell's and therefore I do not belive it deserves a
true recounting. This was a normal Undertaker match with the end coming
after the Tombstone piledriver. After the match, the Brood came down
from the ceiling and sent a rope through the top. The Undertaker then
proceded to tie a noose around Bossman's neck and hung him, as the cage
was raised. Bossman possibly did die (kidding of course).
WINNER: UNDERTAKER via PINFALL
MATCH TEN: MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING
WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
THE ROCK (Champion) vs. "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN
Jim Ross is announced as the special commentator for the Main Event.
Vince McMahon is announced as the special referee, but commisioner Shawn
Michaels arrives and informs Vince that the only person who can choose a
referee is the Commisioner. Therefore Michaels tells McMahon to hit the
bricks and that if any Corporation members arrived at ringside, McMahon
would have to meet Michaels in the parking lot after the Pay-Per-View.
The Rock and Stone Cold put on the best show of the night. Right in the
beginning, the two began to duke it out in the crowd. After Stone Cold
had thrown Rock back over the gaurd rail, he brought him over and threw
him into the crowd on the other side of the ring. Back in the ring, The
Rock suddenly plants the Rock Bottom on Stone Cold and only gets a two
count!!! The match carries to the outside again, where Stone Cold puts
The Rock on the Spanish announce table and with two driving elbows puts
The Rock through the table. Back in the ring, the referee's knocked out
and a second ref enters into the ring. Frustrated by a two count, The
Rock gives the second referee the Rock Bottom. Then Stone Cold hits the
Stunner but there is no referee to make the three count. Referee Earl
Hebner runs in but only gets two. McMahon arrives at ringside and takes
out Earl Hebner. The Rock and McMahon batter Stone Cold until Mankind
arrives from the hospital. Mankind takes over the referee duties. Stone
Cold hits the Stunner and pins the Rock 1-2-3. Austin and Earl Hebner
share a few beers and McMahon gets a Stunner as the show closes.
WINNER: STEVE AUSTIN via PINFALL TO BECOME THE NEW WWF CHAMPION
