Background: Grant, the only senior on battery, is third in a legacy of percussionists converted from woodwinds since the school's commencement. However, he is the only such player in Olympic Heights who has risen from cymbals to front ensemble to bass and finally to snare. His musical experience includes 9 years of intense piano lessons (4 in which he qualified for State Competition, as well as 3 years of oboe, making him an experienced musician. At the end of the 1997-1998 school year he was awarded an Outstanding Service Award for Band as well as the Most Outstanding Percussionist award. He hopes to play snare at Georgia tech and is working on his chops in preparation to join Magic of Orlando on Bass with Alex. His strengths include strong will (he really loves what he does, ask any of the other members), a relatively high level of responsibility, respect for staff, and physical strength. His faults are a lack of ability to drive well with Rob in the car and a short temper (he highly regards his social stature).
