West Edmonton Mall Dive Feb. '99
Well, I must say that it's quite something to dive during the winter in Alberta but thanks to the folks at Ocean Sports (Jenny, especially) and the West Edmonton Mall, the club members got to dive in warmer water than usual. Sorry for the quality of most pictures, Stephane was using an underwater camera for the first time.
The dive lasted about 45 minutes. We went twice around the submarine pool. The divers (left) are following the sub track looking at the marine displays and all other artifacts. Even a Tyrannausorus Rex was waiting for the divers around a corner. Unfortunately, that picture did not turn out at all.
Ren is diving over a huge Egyptian style vase. In some places, it looked like the lost continent of Atlantis with all the old artifacts.

Isn't it romantic?
Stephane is looking at the dolphins. This was pretty exciting. We were so close (nose to nose) that we could see the emotion in their eyes. I think that they were watching us and not the other way around. Very playful and intelligent creatures (the dolphins not the divers).
Once again, the dolphin display was the most popular attraction. Craig is being observed by a couple of them.
Posing in front of a fish display. Too bad that nobody could use the camera properly.
Everyone enjoyed the dive. For those less fortunate who never went diving somewhere south, this is the closest thing to it. Warm water and lots to see.
