Where would we be without Maurice Malpas? The full-back is one of the best players ever to pull on a tangerine shirt, and despite his advancing years, he has nevertheless enjoyed yet another great season. Mo is the epitome of consistency, rarely if ever having a bad game, and a true professional as well. This entry may sound sycophantic, but virtually everyone who has attended Tannadice on a regular basis over the past few years would agree that without Malpas, we would have been in even more trouble than at present, and would certainly be bottom of the league this year. Would easily slot into an all-time United Greats XI.
