I was glad to see a website for Long Island volleyball - they seem to be very hard to find. I play on a team of fellow Suffolk Co. Water Authority Engineers (and a few friends and acquaintances) in the Village of Patchogue League. It is a very good league
A and B divisions for both men and women. My team is a good B team, but can't compete at the A level. We are all 30 something family men, weekend warrior types. For most of us, our athletic careers fizzled out somewhere between junior high and high school
but we do have one or two true athletes (and one or two total couch potatoes to balance things out). We will begin our season on Jan. 4, and play until early April. We usually make the playoffs each year, then fall apart.
Some guys on my team have been looking for a simialr league in Suffolk County that has its season in the fall. We want to try play a little more volleyball before our winter season to avoid pulled muscles and bruised egos. If you hear of any such leagues,

I was surprised to see that you didn't have information about the Patchogue League, since I heard that they were loking for teams for all divisions.

The fall league will be forming at The Sports Arena on Middle Country Road in St. James in the next few weeks. Mens, womens and coed leagues are planned. Nights the
legues will play are to be determined once the number of teams/players becomes more defined. League fee is $640 per team, maximum of twelve people on team
roster. Ten weeks of play, followed by playoffs. There will be three games per match. Start times for the games will be determined once the nights of play and the number of teams is determined. Teams that would

There is a new league forming at The Sports Arena in St. James.
Plans are for a teen and adult league. Mens, womens and coed leagues are planned. Nights the legues will play are to be determined once the number of teams/players becomes more defined.
League fee is $640 per team, maximum of twelve people on team roster. Ten weeks of play, followed by playoffs. There will be three games per match. Start times for the games will be 7, 8:15, 9:30. 10:45PM.
Teams that would like to register can call the Sports Arena at 361-9288. Indivudual players looking to join a team will have an opportunity to work out with other players in Mid-May to form teams, or join existing teams. Dates for these sessions will be
announced - to be included on the mailing list, contact the Sports Arena.

Keith, I've been looking for a place to play some recreation vball on the island for a long time. thank you for setting up this site.
I've played vball for many years, since high school, but have stopped playing since college. And now totally out of shape, and would just like to play in a recreational coed league (partly because my wife plays a bit too) maybe now we'll be able to play
at glen cove.
