These (poor quality) pictures are from Ideal's Rubik's Cubathon. This one was held at Six Flags over Atlanta on Oct. 10, 1981. I am only in one of these pictures (the second one). My friend Tommy Williams (hobbled by a knee injury) is in several of them. (It musta been Tommy's friend with Tommy's camera.) I was just sure I would win this contest. As it happened, I spun the darn cube out of my hands onto the floor, got flustered, and didn't get it solved within the sixty-second time limit of the first round. Such is life.
