A great quote by Bart Favor concerning the pakker's loss and playoff situation, "...well, we probably won't get a bye now."
Didn't the Vikes just win the Division?
I think pakker fans are in deep denial. Today one of them said, "I don't know how a team of that calibre could play so badly!"
What calibre?
I told him they are not a team of "that" calibre anymore. When will pakker fans realize, the pakk is just not that good anymore.
Mike "The Walrus" Holmgren is showing what little class he has! First he pisses and moans about how loud it is at the Metrodome. Last year when he won there, I didn't hear him complaining. As [Hall of Fame coach] Bud [Grant] would suggest...install mufflers in the dome.
Hey Mike, try losing with class...there's a little thing we like to call "sportsmanship." Try it sometime."
Next Mike Homo screams down a fan just for saying, "Hey Mike, try coaching this team rather than worrying about who you'll coach next year."
I've heard more vicious heckling during Sunday Mass. Yet the Walrus went off. Then Mike had the nerve to say, "I should know better than to argue with people who are less important."
So Homo decides who's important. He doesn't seem to be handling the pakker demise very well.
A couple of notes from the big pakker win...or did they lose? I forget.
Play of the game: 160 pound David Palmer successfully blocking Reggie "Betty" White. That was priceless. I wish I could get a still shot of it to use as my background/wallpaper.
Here's a good one: A pakk fan told me the pakk lost because they were using the wrong cleats. You would think since they were playing on on their own home field they would have known what footwear to use. Pakk management better fire that equipment manager.
The pakk still sucks!
Wow, that high powered pakk offense EXPLODED for 13 points against the mighty Ben-GALS. They should be very proud.
It looks like the end of the streak at Lamebo will come in the Monday nighter against the Vikes.
Levins out, Jervey with a hamstring problem, Raymont Harris limping in practice...pakk running game is a mess, and you know what they say about teams without a running game....
The new Browns are looking good already. Carmen Policy will be running things and he's the best exec in football. (Yes, even better than Wolf.) Also, Bernie Kosar is in the front office and they have the #1 pick next year. Throw in free agency and they should be competitive right away.
The Pork Bay pakkers showed little or nothing yesterday.
Nice special teams coverage. Ha, Ha.
Favor got roughed up. This is the season he goes down to injury. (I know his name is French, but I'm an American, so I'll pronounce it "Favor.")
Vikes look tough...the pakk won't be able to stop them.
Isn't it funny that when the Cowboys, the 49ers, et cetera were Super Bowl champions and they talked it up, Pakk fans considered them "A-holes." Yet now Pakk fans still talk it up even after disgracing the NFC in Super Bowl XXXII.
It's time for my annual Super Bowl prognostication. No Pakk this year. In fact, they won't even win their division. It'll be Minnesota in the NFC Central with Pork Bay finishing third behind Tampa Bay. The NFC East is up for grabs and in the NFC West San Francisco will cruise to an easy first place.
With the 49ers getting home field for the playoffs I think they will be unstoppable. They're out to prove something this year and their defense (#1 in the league last year) will be even better this year. Watch for the 'Niners to defeat Pork Bay at Lamebo Field on November 1.
Super Bowl XXXIII Prediction: San Francisco 49ers with their record sixth Alvin "Pete" Rozelle Trophy over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chisel it in stone.
