HAKEEM OLAJUWON
The Dream doing, well...what The Dream does! At the hoop and delivering!

This is just a humble tribute to the best team in the NBA...THE HOUSTON ROCKETS. This page in no means can compete with some of the other Rockets websites out there, such as Clutch City '98, which in my opinion is the best one around. There is a link to that site, as well as others, on my "LINKS PAGE". I just wanted to give tribute since I am trying to get this Matt Maloney site up and going. I love this team, but most of all I actually like the players on the team. Nowadays thats
not always the case.
How many teams out there have 3 of the NBA's All-Time best in their starting line-up. We have so many players that just not have earned respect but demand it. The Rockets have Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon who is arguably one of the best, if not the best, centers to play in the NBA who is constantly "dreaming" up new ways to awe us with his "DreamShake". Sometimes I just can't believe my eyes when he does yet another trick, leaving his opponent wondering what on Earth just happened, as the ball falls in the hoop. Clyde "The Glide" Drexler, who still amazes me with his drives to the basket and his fancy footwork. Then there is Sir Charles....how could we ever forget the Chuckster as I like to refer to him. He is simply one of a kind and when he gets that look in his eyes, he simply won't be denied. I love his candor on and off the court and his ability to speak his mind freely...if you like his opinion or not. But perhaps the heart of the team is a guy who wasn't honored to be in the 50 All-Time Best and that is the "JunkYard Dog" Mario Elie. His grit and determination are unmatched, he simply plays for his team and goes after it with all that is in his heart. It might be argued that he is one of the best defensive players in the NBA, but can be just as deadly as an offensive weapon. And of course there's Matt Maloney....a rookie who stepped in and kept surprising us throughout last season.
Can you the believe the injustice?

But that is just the starting line-up, we can't forget the remaining Rockets crew, Kevin Willis, Eddie Johnson (remember that amazing buzzer beating 3-pointer, I still get chills), Matt Bullard, Brent Price, Emanuel Davis, Othella Harrington and the newly aquired Rodrick Rhodes, who was a first-round draft pick for the Rockets.
This going to be a great season, but you can't mention the Rockets without mentioning the best NBA coach in the league Rudy T. He gave us something in Houston we never had before and that is a Championship Team. Not once but twice and I know it could not have been possible without this man. He is the backbone of this Rockets organization and I'll never forget his words..."Never underestimate the Heart of a Champion."
He is truly a man with heart and soul and he offers that whole-heartedly to Houston and his Rockets!
So here's to the start of a new season, which has most of the players from last season back including the whole starting line-up. We were right there last season at the Western Conference Finals, and that was with a team who was riddled with injuries and basically a whole new Rockets team. Now they've had time to get to know one another and hopefully this will benefit us. So here's to THE HOUSTON ROCKETS
becoming the 1998 NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!
