1924/25 Second Division: 2nd (promoted). FA Cup: First Round.
A combined United/City team meet a Liverpool/Everton side in a testimonial match for Ernest Mangnall who had led United in two League Championships and an FA Cup triunph.
1925/26 First Division: 9th. FA Cup: Semi Final.
1926/27 First Division: 15th. FA Cup: Third Round.
Walter Crickmer is appointed secretary.
1927/28 First Division: 18th. FA Cup: Sixth Round.
