1966: Born April 2, Highams Park, Essex.

1984: Signs apprentice forms with Millwall on January 19 and makes debut against Brentford.

1985: Goes to Aldershot on loan. 5 games, 1 goal.

1988: Wins second division championship with Millwall who are promoted to top flight.

1991: After 262 appearances and 111 goals for Millwall signs for Nottingham Forest on July 23. Goes on to play 62 games and score 23 goals for the Midlands team.

1992: Joins Tottenham on August 28. Plays the first of 197 games for the London club.

1993: Makes his full England debut against Poland, the first of 28 caps for England. He has since scored eight international goals.

June 27 1997: Signs for Manchester United.
