Were there Martians that were living on Mars? Scientists have been trying to find signs of life on Mars. In 1996, NASA scientists found a meteorite that may have come from Mars. It had bacteria-like features. Scientists think that water once flowed through it, heat acted on it, and simple organic molecules formed. Water, heat, and molecules are needed to make life. But even so, scientists are still not sure if there was life on Mars.
Many rovers, robots, and spacecrafts have landed on Mars. They take pictures, test the soil, collect samples, and help scientists find out more about Mars. Some of them are the Vikings 1 and 2, Marines 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9, Mars Observer, Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Pathfinder, and Sojourner. Another rover that landed on Mars is called Spirit.
