There is a great war waging on
planet earth. A war without conventional guns and bombs, but a terrible war
none the less. It is the war for the hearts and minds of all humanity. A war
of ideas.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union we
were told liberal democracy and free market capitalism had triumphed. The
Western powers quickly proclaimed, in a burst of hypocritical
self-righteousness, the end of the ‘Cold War’ and announced the emergence
of a new global community committed to ‘human rights’ and the ‘free
market’.
But the so-called ‘Cold War’ was, in
reality, a sham. A diversion to keep the masses of the planet choosing between
two supposedly hostile camps. The choice was never between communism and
capitalism, with the ‘left’ and the ‘right’ squaring off as if in some
global prize fight.
The real war continued and changing world
events only accentuated the battles. The real war goes on. The war of ideas.
This war is made up of numerous struggles and battles. The struggle for a
co-operative world of free peoples, as opposed to a
Global Plantation where the great mass of people are treated as consumerist
worker ants and a small minority monopolises all power and wealth. The battle
is for a spiritual view of life against the worship of crass materialism. A
fight for transcendence and the awakening to a superior level of existence, as
opposed to surrender to slave morality and mindless conformity.

matter!
COUNTERMEDIA.COM is an international
research network devoted to presenting information and historical analysis
that challenges and confronts the ‘conventional thinking’ of the modern
world.
COUNTERMEDIA.COM is about presenting a
diverse range of thought and opinion. The superficial reader will not make
‘sense’ of such a ‘diverse’ group. But the aware reader knows that
apparent differences and divisions are overarched by one greater principle.
The very point on which seemingly divergent forces are soundly united. In the
real war this is the very principle that interests us. It is in short: total
opposition to the global status quo.

resistance to the so-called ‘New World Order’. United as they are in their
opposition to a bourgeois world of sameness ruled over by ‘leaders’
without wisdom and without vision, serving only the interests of petty
politicians and perpetual money-making.
In this battle the enemy denounces us as
Stalinists, as communists, as radical anarchists, extreme ‘left’ and even extreme
‘right’. This says more about our enemies’ inability to
understand the new global opposition. Here is our strength. And here is our
assurance of ultimate victory.
