Tribute to Demme
It seems like only yesterday you came into my life
A black furry tornado, all claws and teeth.
Purrs and growls simultaneously, I've never known a kitty quite like you.
You were a Demon kitten, ready to take on the world.
You took over my world and made it so much more fun!
Over the years you have brought me so much joy,
You gave so much more to me than I could have ever given you.
With age you mellowed, but you still ruled.
The other kitties listened when you spoke,
Respect was yours, no questions asked.
When I was sad, you were there.
When I was happy, you were there.
When I cried or worried, you were there.
When I needed a hug, you were there.
You listened when I had a problem,
Somehow you helped me solve them.
What will I do without my best friend?
This poem says it all:
If Tears Could Build A Stairway,
And Memories A Lane,
I'd Walk Right Up To Heaven,
And Bring You Home Again.
