BiographyCraig Norris’ research interests include the transnational flow of Japanese popular culture and its reception by a globally dispersed audience. He graduated with honours from the University of South Australia in 1995, and was awarded a PhD at the University of Western Sydney in 2004. He studied at Tokyo University on a Monbushô (Japanese Government) research scholarship from 1999 to 2001. He has a passion for popular culture and the spaces it opens for creative academic exploration. He is an active member local anime (Japanese animation) communities and online ventures. He is currently working as a research assistant at the Japanese Studies Centre, Monash University, Australia on projects including an innovative Manga Library-Cafe.
