BlueprintsThis section provides an outline of the current research and ideas I am pursuing.
Organising research activities, workshops and creative sessions at the Manga Library-Cafe. Here is some information about the innovative Manga Library: Manga library-café
The Manga Library-Café
was established in November 2002 as part of Monash University’s Japanese
Studies Centre. This innovative space
provides a unique environment for access to Japanese popular culture. The library is modelled on
the Japanese Internet café and
manga kissa (comics
café), and offers a collection of over
5,000 Japanese manga and other related texts (magazines, novels etc) with
café facilities and Internet access. This
venture complements over twenty years of Japanese studies research and Japanese
language education at the JSC, and offers
students and the public an
opportunity to experience the
growing popularity of Japanese visual
culture. Opening Hours: 10am
to 6pm Monday to Saturday. Japanese Studies
