Free download  For visitors interested in my work on Critical Systems Heuristics (CSH) or my research program "Critical systems thinking (CST) for professionals & citizens," this page offers some of my papers as PDF files for free download.

For obvious reasons, I can only offer papers for which I hold the copyright. These are articles either not (or not exclusively) copyrighted elsewhere, such as papers published in university working paper series, in open-access online journals, or in this web site; or else prepublication versions or revised postpublication versions of copyrighted papers.

Increasingly, I hope to be able to offer original PDF files of articles for which I have granted the publishers a non-exclusive copyright only, along the lines of the SPARC Author's Addendum. Where this is not possible, I will increasingly indicate in the available pre- or postpublication files  (including older ones) the original page breaks, so that these files, too, can be used as sources for accurate page references.

Format  All papers are in the platform-independent PDF format. You need Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher to read these files.

Download the latest version of the Adobe Reader free of charge here: >>

Alternative PDF reader  Unfortunately, the Adobe reader in my experience does not work reliably under Windows Vista (esp. the 64-bit version) when opening files from within a browser. For those among my visitors who use Windows Vista, I recommend as an unproblematic alternative the Foxit Reader.

Download the latest version of the Foxit Reader free of charge here: >>

For your convenience! The list of available papers is now ordered chronologically and includes (as far as I am aware) all PDF files offered as printer-friendly versions of some pages of this site. PDF files marked have been added with the last update of the list (you'll find that date at the bottom of the page).

Alternative HTML pages  PDF files marked with an asterix (*) are equally available in this site as HTML pages (e.g., in the sections "A Tribute to C.W. Churchman," "CST for Professionals & Citizens," and "Ulrich's Bimonthly"). Please refer to the Site Map for a hyperlinked overview of all HTML pages. (A future update of the layout of this page will include direct hyperlinks to HTML versions.)

I wish you an interesting reading experience. –  WUlrich
