Barbara became hooked on herbs when she visited Old Sturbridge Village, in Massachusetts, New England and saw their herb garden. She was fascinated by the traditions and beauty of the herbs. She is a renowned harpist and still enjoys playing. Her favorite herb is lemon thyme which she loves to cook with all the time. She both plants her herbs in a ground garden and in containers. Deidre has been living in Georgia since 1982. She has been a member since 2000, the same year she finished her Master Gardner Training. She learned to enjoy gardening by watching her family garden. Her Grandfather always had a vegetable garden, while her Mother, Great Aunt and Aunt had the herb gardens. Deidre drives 100+ miles to Atlanta for meetings because she enjoys the friendships of the members and has a wonderful time learning about herbs. Deidre lives in Dalton. Contact: Deidre |
A lawyer Susan has practiced in Decatur, Georgia for 25 years.

Barb grew up with herb gardening, as the tradition has been passed down from her grandmother, 94 year old great aunt and her mom. Barb's specific interest is in medicinal herbs, and she uses herbal supplements towards a healthy life style. Her favorite herb is mint. She is an avid gardener, and plants herbs in and around her flower gardens. Her other hobbies include weaving, beer homebrewing and reading. She has three cats and six sisters and brothers. Barb is a Forester and works for the USDA Forest Service. Her job entails lots of travel around the southeast, working in conservation and restoration of endangered tree species.
