involves covering the paper with charcoal, then erasing into it
for highlights and drawing into it for the shadows

2D Design--over 600 squares, each with a different design in pen
to make one big picture. Needless to say, it took a very long time.

This
is a board game for 2D Design. Based on an origami theme, the board
folds out from an origami "square base." The pieces that
move around the board are an origami crane (orange), rabbit (blue),
dog (red), and frog (green). Since everything folds up flat, it
can be stored in a handmade envelop instead of the traditional gameboard-holding
box.

This
is a tattoo design for 2D Design. The mat board is open at the
top, and acetate slides in with color overlays. Pictured here
is orange on the butterflies. There are also overlays of magenta
and blue, and they can be mixed. The butterfly is based off of
an oriental design. (The glare in the photo is from the acetate)

design in pen for 2D Design. I based the pointy shapes off of a
leaf I found and the circles were inspired by lavalamp bubbles.

This
is giant self-portrait in charcoal for the Drawing II final. It
is based off of a photograph taken by my roomate. During the critique,
everyone enjoyed guessing what I was reading--someone made up a
whole story about me finding the diary of a cheating boyfriend.
It was actually a book with yoga poses--I was looking through it
to get ideas for a pose to do in the self-portrait, and my roomate
snapped a picture. This picture turned out more interesting than
the yoga ones, so I used it.
