Cyndie the Butterfly

Hi, my name is Cyndie Dresser (CD), but most of the time I'm Cyndie or Cyndie D. Since you have chosen to come this way, you can call me by either name you chose.

As you know by now, I am a butterfly. Butterflies are born as caterpillars. Before they become the beautiful creatures that we know, they must go through a metamorphosis. From time to time I am privileged to experience a brief metamorphosis, and forego the male side of my persona and express the feminine side of my being, to be Cyndie for a while.

I was born, and still am, a biological male. I am also Christian, heterosexual, monogamous, happily married (30+ years), and have no desire to change any of these. Early in life, about seven, I discovered that part of me was feminine and I enjoyed the feminine part of my being. The discovery of my feminine sentiments came when I was asked to take part in a community play. Several male characters were to dress in feminine clothing, and I was a part of that group. I still remember the red plaid dress, the full cotton slip, the white anklet socks, the black Mary Jane shoes, and the makeup that were a part of my costume. I found out right there that I enjoyed the look, the touch, and the feel of feminine articles. You may or my not understand this, but my feminine feelings about myself led to a great deal of guilt and misunderstanding for the seven year old, church going boy.

As a teenager, my desire to dress in feminine clothing continued. Growing up, I had girl cousins that lived close by and afforded me the opportunity of acquiring some girl clothing from time to time. We also lived in a rural area, which gave me the space and the privacy to experience wearing dresses and other articles of girl's clothing without being discovered. I enjoyed these limited times, but they did nothing to help the feeling of guilt associated with my playing dress-up.

Throughout most of my young adult years I suppressed my desires to dress in feminine clothing. During this time, my wife knew nothing about my cross dressing desires. In my thirties I began wearing panties from time to time. My wife knew about this, and because I enjoyed the look and the feel, it was OK with her. During my forties I began to travel as a part of my job, and found that being alone during the evenings provided a perfect time to experience my feminine desires by wearing lingerie, dresses and ladies' shoes.

My window on the world has been opened through the net. I learned how to conduct searches on particular topics, and one day I typed in "transvestite" and discovered a whole new, world. I WAS NOT ALONE. There were thousands, of heterosexual, cross dresser out there. Not only were they there, they were willing to share their experiences with the world, and me.

I decided that I would have to tell my loving wife about Cyndie and my long time feminine feelings and desires. This was a difficult time for both of us. From her perspective, "The man that she had married many years ago suddenly wanted to be a woman." She has learned that my desires were not all that sudden, they have been a repressed part of the man that she has known all these years. She also knows that I am not homosexual, and have no desire to actually become a woman. She understands that a part of me is feminine, and that I need to share that with someone who loves me and will be accepting of the person that I am. This does not mean that knowing Cyndie is easy for her, but she is trying to accept Cyndie, and from time to time, does allow her to be a part of our life together.

What you see on these pages is Cyndie, the butterfly. The metamorphosis takes place from time to time and Cyndie emerges to express her feminine being and then goes away for a while. Life is not always easy for butterflies. There are those out there who don't understand that we are all part of God's creation. When they see a butterfly they want to swat it, because it is different. Yet, there are those who look at the butterflies and realize that we all can have something good to contribute to our world and the more good we contribute, the better our world will be.

Thanks for taking the time to read about Cyndie, the butterfly.
