Zoot, Tom K. and the other regulars around rec.bicycles.soc. would have seen (and replied to) the long-ish post I sent called "The Italian Job"... The twisted tale of a Marinoni 12 speed that got bought by my neighbor DF and modded into a street beater. The mod didn't work out so DF gave the frame and all associated parts to me (we're both dedicated re-cyclists).

The bike was 90% complete when I recieved it, and has been restored to riding condition. The original Cinelli stem and the original Shimano 600 12-21 appear in the bottom of the photo. The stem was replaced by a shorter reach alloy stem (generic) and the 12-21 cassette was replaced with a 14-38. 700c tires were also replaced (front one is on it's second tire). I have no idea what model it is, and I estimate it to be at least 15 years old.

I'm still a little too heavy for this bike, could someone recommend where I can find some Nu-Teck or Airfree tires?
