I have one son J, born in San Diego, California; he lives in San Diego, in the same neighborhood my mother grew up; this son's mother P was born in Chicago, Illinois; she is also living [2002] in San Diego, California. Three generations ago, her ancestors emigrated to Chicago from Germany, Poland and the Ukraine; except one branch which was already in Philadelphia.
My brother B was born in Grossmont Hospital, La Mesa [San Diego], California; he is living in Seattle, Washington. Brother is married to L, they have two children, C and C.
Our mother M lives in San Diego with her husband our stepfather H.
By our mother's sister V we have two first cousins, R and S, both of whom married (S and J and R) and have one daughter each, N and K; and N has three young sons B, A and D.
By our mother's second marriage after our first father died, Brother and I gained a stepfather, a stepsister and two stepbrothers. They bring us spouses and three more nieces and a nephew; and more than a dozen stepcousins came in with the deal, too. They--the Xyz clan--are not an estranged family, and have a complicated history of land I shall not tell here because they are an entirely separate--and huge--genealogy.
