It's hard to describe these books because the author's point of view shifts from book to book. Delta is a street cop who has no use for bureaucracy. Sometimes she seems to have no use for constitutional rights. Sometimes she's Dirty Harry; sometimes she's Rambo. Sometimes she's just a lesbian Chris Cagney. When last seen, she was in the jungles of Costa Rica where she learned that her vigilantiism was bad for her karma. The only point on which the author never wavers is that Delta is one of the Goddess's chosen heroes. Delta has a deep bond with her best friend and sister cop, Connie, a computer whiz, and an evolving relationship with her lover, Megan.
